Maybe check your portal again. My D25’s now looks the same as it did yesterday. All of the info is back.
It mentions calculating final gpa with 8th semester grades eventually but nothing about 7th. Literally no changes to the portal. I guess that’s a bad sign.

I checked and his status was blank, no counselor info or Slate ID. Could access tours. Then I checked again and it’s all back.

I think the admissions staff are toying with our minds and laughing at the CC comments.
My D25 has a game tonight. This school is her absolute top choice, which means that she will not be looking at her portal until late tonight when she is back home and safely in a place to be away from her teammates and able to be in her feelings alone. Her stats are good and we would normally expect an acceptance except that she is a nursing major so are as prepped as possible for the defer/deny.
Good luck to everyone tonight! This admissions cycle is so much more stressful than the 2022 one we last went through!

Go Vols!!! I was trying to add a link to the Rocky Top song by the Osbornes bolton let me. We visited UTK in November and were able to attend a pre season basketball game. We listened to this song non stop on our car rides. My d loved UTK!! I’m praying she gets in!!!

Yes and unfortunately my daughter was deferred. She has a friend who is a freshman who was also deferred and eventually was admitted. My D likes UTK more than Clemson so hoping for an admit or a defer tonight.
We’re in Maine and I’m interested in the vibe differences you saw between UNH and UTK.

My D is also OOS Architecture. I think I saw earlier in thread you guys are also in the northeast like us

Architecture as well OOS in the midwest. UTK seems to be a trendy school these days. We haven’t visited but like an affordable 5 year program. Good luck to y’all!
Good luck to everyone tonight! My daughter is a senior and wants time to slow down! She has loved her 4 years there as have we, I will be bummed to not be out visiting for football games and sorority parent weekends! UTK was not her first choice, she was admitted to South Carolina, Georgia, and Clemson as well but as a 2021 grad she was not able to really get out and visit until spring of 2021. She visited all of them and just immediately knew UTK was the place for her as soon as she stepped on campus and had her great tour! She is a finance major and just accepted a job at Morgan Stanley after she graduates. My high school class of 26 grad also has UTK high on her list so we may be back! We are also from the Northeast.

have you visited both schools? UNH has 12k students and UTK has double that. UNH is rural (but close to Portsmouth an amazing town) and UTK is in a city. It’s a total different campus and vibe!! We could feel the energy at UTK. Attended a basketball game (pre season)!! It was amazing. I’m not saying UNH isn’t amazing too because it is but my d doesn’t want a New England college. We are from MASS and she wants to attend a big southern school. If you have the chance visit UTK.
We visited in October and attended an open house on a Saturday. The business buildings look amazing. My d wants to study architecture and we were able to get a private tour from a fifth year student (we missed the architecture open house). The facilities at UTK are amazing and we loved Knoxville. Had time to visit the downtown and eat at the fabulous restaurants and even had a foot massage at a spa. Attended a pre season basketball game and can’t believe how packed it was. The cheer leaders and dance team put on a great show. It was a blast!! The vibe there was amazing and can see why your child loved it.
my '23 son is at Clemson (from CA). He went there because of the campus feel- happy students, nice campus, school spirit/sports, etc. I love going to Clemson to visit him there. I suspect UTK is similar in many regards. My '25 son is also applying to some SE schools, including UTK.

I haven’t visited either! Although we are in Maine, UNH never interested either of my kids so we don’t know much about it. My DS is applying to a bunch of big, SEC schools and at the last second, decided to send UTK an application. If he gets in, we may go see it then. We’ve been to UGA, U South Carolina, Alabama and UNC Chapel Hill.
Hopefully they will be classmates. Yes we are from Massachusetts
