OOS, Advertising with $8k per year volunteer scholarship. Didn’t submit SAT results. Also got accepted to UofSC without submitting test results. But got deferred at both UGA and Clemson and did submit SAT scores to them. Good luck everyone!
OOS, my daughter got accepted in Haslam School of Business with 52K scholarship over 4 years (Top 4% graduating class with 5.2 GPA, 11 AP exams, great SAT score). This is one of her options. Good luck to all!!
Did you submit ACT scores then, if you didn’t submit SAT? And congrats!!
We are in-state and many, many kids from our high school applied to UTK. It’s a high achieving high school and not many kids were accepted to the Honors College - including kids with 35-36 on the ACT. Apparently only 5-10% of students are in the program. Maybe it will be different this year?
Did anyone get direct admit to nursing? OOS and got deferred
I thought SAT or ACT scores are required???
OOS kiddo was deferred, first non-acceptance to date and she’s a bit crushed. 4.1042 weighed GPA for up to Junior year, 3 APs, many honors and this year 4 DE. Took SAT only once, 1200. Volunteer, NHS, HOSA, travel and varsity volleyball/senior capt. We shall see if she gets accepted during RA. She did get in to PSU University Park!
OOS accepted into The College of Arts & Sciences with $8K a year Volunteer Scholarship. 4.0 uwgpa, 4.2 wgpa, 29 ACT, 5 APs and all the rest Honors
Nen, my daughter got accepted oos Architecture as well!!! We are also from MA (although just bought a house in NH)!!!
He’s in! OOS, high stats and high test score. School of Agriculture, Construction Mgmt major. Also got a nice merit scholarship and into the honors program.
It was great to hear this but not five minutes later he heard that his track coach isn’t running him in the meet this weekend and he’s crushed. She’s starting a sophomore over him. The sophomore doesn’t attend practice but has a private track coach and is faster. Last year he couldn’t run all year because of a torn hamstring that took a long time to rehab, so he’s so been looking forward to this season. By not running this weekend he won’t have an opportunity to get a fast enough time for the two invitationals in january, since he’ll have to rely on his sophomore year times. He’s crushed. It completely killed the mood from his acceptance.
My OOS daughter was deferred as well. 4.3, 1200, 11 EPs, tons of leadership, job, varsity sports. Older DD is a junior at UTK. Very different process than it was 3 years ago.
Deferred here too with very similar stats and two varsity sports, leadership, etc.
So crazy. She got acceptances to SDSU and U of South Carolina today which took the sting out of the UTK deferral.
Today is OOS decisions.
We were told 1260 minimum SAT by an admissions officer. I know some people who didn’t apply only because they were below that number. It looks like some got in with a little lower but higher GPAs.
Also OOS and deferred.
OOS, my son got accepted in Haslam School of Business with 72K scholarship over 4 years 1490 SAT, 4.0 GPA, 8 APs. This is his TOP choice if denied in-state at UGA for RD after being deferred EA. Rocky Top is a super special place. Good luck to all!
OOS D in after some frustrating deferrals. Haslam with merit. 4.99 GPA. 8 APs. 1310 SAT. Lots of extracurriculars and leadership positions including cheer captain.
OOS accepted into Haslam with $13K a year. UTK GPA of 4.46, 32 ACT 10 APs and 3DE
Anyone know how many applied EA?
