University of Vermont Early Action/Early Decision for Fall 2025 Admissions

My son was waitlisted for the honors college in December & was admitted to the honors college in late February, without committing yet.

Thanks for the info! Did he get automatically put on the waitlist? My son’s email asked him to decide if he wants to be on the list within a week so I didn’t know if he had to commit first. But this helps answer that.

No, for EA he emailed admissions & asked to be reconsidered for honors—he wasn’t invited to a waitlist.

Yeah ours was a STEM Scholar finalist but no offer for Honors. We still have to find out if we are offered STEM Scholar the end of this month I believe. Honestly they would have to offer us additional money on top of the 25k to change our top choice now. Admitted students day presentation from the Dean for her college was very disappointing. Can you say unprepared and non updated slides that gave us no sense of what it is like for her curriculum. We also attended med school presentation and they kind of made it like you go right from undergrad to med school but I spoke with presenter awards and he mentioned he took a 2 year gap year which is typical before being accepted. We also are very surprised she was not offered even a waitlist for Honors since she got into Virginia Tech which is a much larger school and was offered Honors college so she is leaning towards VT even though the cost is slightly more being out of state for both.

Well, my kid will really have a hard decision to make. She got offered STEM Scholars today but last night Virginia Tech stepped up and offered her a prestigious Honors College Scholarship. Doesn’t seem like the STEM Scholars is coming with any extra money and she is kind of feeling snubbed about not being offered Honors College at UVM. Nice for her to have options.

Wondering if either of you decided? My daughter is also OOS for animal science w/presidential scholarship. She has narrowed it down to UVM or Cal Poly.

We went to admitted students’ day last Friday and had a wonderful experience. After seeing the campus again and sitting in on a presentation at the Grossman School of Business, my D will be committing.

We are headed up there this coming Friday for an admitted student day and another walkthrough before he makes a final decision! (selfishly excited because as a '00 Alum, I know it’s changed a lot since I was there). Congrats!
