Hello! I am a senior who applied to UW for the Autumn 2024 term (it’s my top choice!) I’ve dropped some stats/info below. Could anyone chance me? Thank you!!
OOS, applied for social welfare

Class Rank: my school does not do this
SAT- did not submit
APs: 3 total
Dual Enrollment: 2 total

Jobs: 3 jobs total, worked part time 20+ hrs per week during all of HS
Awards: All-American D-Day Band Member (nationally recognized to represent USA in France), National Honors Society, Excellence in Leadership (school wide award), Musical Excellence award (all 4 years), Foreign Language Award (2 years), High Honor Roll student
Research: Conducted self-led research on mental health outside of school (not published yet, 2+ year project)
Challenges that influenced academics: Had to work all years of HS 20+ hrs a week, caring for severely ill sibling in and out of treatment for 2 years
Looks like you said out of state. I’d think you have a good shot, but not guaranteed. GPA and course rigor perhaps a bit light. Does sound like some other impressive activities though.
OOS acceptance rates have trended down (38%) w/ influx of applications since the move to common app last year. You should know in a month. It’s a great school, best of luck!
You also need to provide an UW GPA. You can do this by taking each class - and for each A, give yourself a 4, a B a 3, C a 2 - and then take an average.
UW doesn’t look at tests (except for on the bubble students) - so this won’t hurt you.
The school’s admit rate is 54% for in state and 46% OOS on a 3 year basis.
The middle 50% have a 3.75 to 3.98 - so I’m not sure if that’s weighted or not.
I believe this is an unweighted GPA - so if you calculate yours yours, you’ll be able to best guess.
Of course, no matter what, you need a backup - an assured and affordable school.
