3.98 UW, 9 APs, 1520 SAT, typical “average excellent” ECs.
It did take a long time for the portal to load, probably everyone checking at once

same here. we got into undeclared major +3k merit. applied for bioengineering. Very excited. but not sure that it means to be undeclared major.

Yes. It says Engineering Undeclared in the College of Engineering
Great! That is what you want to see 
All students admitted directly to the college of engineering are initially undeclared. There is a secondary admission process for majors.
which major your daughter is in?
She also indicated an interest in bioengineering, but freshmen in engineering aren’t admitted directly to a major. There is a competitive secondary admission progress. Check out the link about ENGRUDs for more info.

Daughter admitted OOS pre-sciences, $4200 aid!

Son got admitted to pre-sciences. Instate and his first choice was CS. What’s normal pathway for such kids if they enroll into pre-sciences? He has few OOS CS options and waiting on several end of month but Instate will be sweet if he can pursue CS related adjacent major here. Appreciate thoughts
Went through this with S23. He had received engg undeclared admit (the norm) while he was interested in BioEngg. They publish stats of % students who will get their first choice majors for Sophomore year. BioEngg was ~70%, MechEngg ~90% & CompEngg ~80%, rest get their first choice major.
We were OOS so didn’t want to pay up and then risk it, now he is happy at UCSD BioEngg. I’m happy with in-state tuition.

My son received email saying decision was made. But when logging into MyUW, it says “you don’t have any update”. Where should I look?
D26 accepted to pre-social sciences. She had applied to Poli Sci. I don’t think they said anything about aid yet. Of course it is possible she didn’t look. We are OOS (CA residents) so money will be an important factor as she has some UC admits (SC & R) and we are waiting on the others. But very happy to get in, this was one of her top choices after the top 3-4 UCs.
