University of West Florida

Hi, I live in Florida and want to go to a smaller College. I have looked at smaller colleges like Flagler and Eckerd but I also want to consider cheaper public schools. Does anyone know about the International relations and history majors at UWF.

And what is the area around it like?

I can’t speak much for the program there so you’ll have to look it up yourself however I do know about the area. Pensacola is a very nice town with the beach about half an hour from the college. It’s large enough that enough stuff happens that you won’t be bored but not large enough to be overwhelming. From what I’ve heard people who transferred from UWF came back extremely quickly because you get a lot of time with your professors and they are all extremely accessible. UWF is a very good college that has the research and such opportunities of a much larger college but with the accessability and access of a small college.

I also don’t know specifically about the program, but I know in my area of south florida UWF is not thought of too highly, sorry. If you are looking specifically at publics and you thought about Eckerd, you could probably get into UNF, possibly with merit aid (they don’t seem to big to me) and possibly FSU (maybe that’s too big lol). I’d also definitely recommend USF because I know for a fact they have multiple campuses, and thus would not have as many people at some of the other options people have such as st. petersburgh. Just my 2 cents.
