For those that were into portal astrology, and therefore checked the MyUW diagnostics hoping for “APPL” changing to “ADMT” or something like that… They are onto you! I just checked, and now towards the bottom it says: “MyUW Diagnostics does not include the group APPL, because this group has been used in past portal astrology.
When troubleshooting, draw no conclusion from this report either way about whether this user is in the group APPL. Sorry this complicates troubleshooting.” LOL!

When troubleshooting, draw no conclusion from this report about whether wiscedustudentstatus attribute was present or whether the user is a member of APPL. Sorry this complicates troubleshooting.

This makes me laugh. Whoever edited that diagnostics page has a good sense of humor about the portal astrology at least! I’ll admit we’ve checked it once or twice (or a dozen times), hoping for something positive. This wait is so hard on the kiddos, and mine is one of those who will instantaneously accept if given the chance.

Is everyone able to activate services and their netid?
I feel like we activated our netid when we first logged in to the portal? But maybe I’m just confused. Also, not clear on “activating services”…? Can you clarify?
Our guess is that Wisconsin will release their RD decisions this Friday. We know that EA final decisions were made more than a week before they were announced (as per a conversation with their admissions office). Therefore RD decisions have already been made.
Wisconsin just knocked off Purdue in men’s basketball after playing very poorly since the EA deferrals. That says to me that the curse has been lifted. Whichever student’s deferral that led to the curse has now been corrected with a decision to admit.

I thought we will hear if we get accepted on March 31?
Out of curiosity, where did you hear that? I thought the web site said “by March 31”—but I think historically it’s earlier.

As the guy who brought up the fact that the Wisconsin basketball team began to skid after the Early Action decisions brought us here, I hope that Wisconsin knocking off top-seeded Purdue (apparently after the Regular Decision evaluations were finalized?), that this does mean that the Admissions Office reversed the curse.
I choose to believe that it took the Admissions Office deciding to admit ALL of our children that reversed the curse.
I do not have a drop of Irish blood in me, so I will not invoke the Luck o’ the Irish here. However, as we begin this fateful week, I wish all of our children the best of luck this week.

Does portal change prior to decisions?
I don’t recall any portal changes prior to decisions. Does anyone else remember changes?
The portal astrology focus was on whether people could register for SOAR, new student housing, and the APPL vs ADMT code in the diagnostics. Anyone who had the ADMT code was later accepted, but some people with the APPL code also got in. The APPL vs ADMT code is moot because Wisconsin has shut down that portal astrology.
New to the thread…but not to the pain! My daughter has been checking her portal non stop today hoping for news…preferably good news. Anyone with insights on when we should expect news? We are OOS with very low probability…just hoping for a miracle.
Speculation is 3/22. Based on previous years.
