Deferred from Business. OOS, 3.7UW, T/O. Strong ECs but not enough to overcome stats prob.

OOS Rejected. 4.0 (UW), 33 ACT. State DECA, NHS, Key Club, Comp Sci club, tennis team. 3 years of calc, 3 AP CS courses as well as several others. Heā€™s also legacy as I went there, and actually know the Director of the CDIS school.

As I said in a UNC thread, the more Iā€™ve read the more I think applying to CS programs was actually a bad move and he should have applied to something random and just change once he got on campus.

Agreed. Son was accepted to 2 schools where his stats wouldnā€™t normally equate to admission. But his selected majors were off the radar so to speak and that likely helped him.

I believe many many schools received a record number of applications. After setting a record the previous year, too. So mass deferments will follow. Some of her deferments will clear to admission I bet.
