Can anyone who was accepted share the admitted students dates? Just wondering if/when they are doing some on Saturdays in April.

Looks like an overall oos acceptance rate of 39% last year. May be lower this year, it’s trending down.

I don’t think admitted student dates announced yet. I made a few hotel reservations anticipating what the dates may be.

As a parent of an OOS son who was Deferred for CS, I have respect for schools that look to admit more to in-state students. I’m in WA, and most University of Washington alumni complain their kids with respectable stats can’t get in, as the school chases Int’l and OOS dollars, so they have to look elsewhere. I think I’ve seen similar frustrations and comments on here as well from in-state parents.

My son wanted to pursue his own path OOS, and that’s fine, but in an ideal world he should be behind comparable in-state candidates.

Email was sent yesterday. There are actually a ton of dates for admitted student tours, specific school days and full days. Most options I have seen a school have so far.

Go to Notification Center section on the Applicant Homepage - you can get the pdf version of the letter there.

Is there a thread on here for all the deferred UW-Madison students? Looks like they only get 3000 words to list anything they want to add, any thoughts?

Not that I’ve seen. Should we start one?

Thanks, can you see if Saturday April 13 is listed? Trying to figure out multiple potential Midwest/East coast trips depending on how it all shakes out.

There is a UW Day offered on Friday 4/12

Thanks, unfortunately that’s same day as IU. Ugh.

Thanks again, Pilate. A deferred thread is a great idea.

I’m reposting this from the Wisconsin EA Deferral thread in case it helps. There is a place for deferred students to self-report mid-term grades and add a brief statement:

Here are the steps:

  1. Enter the Student Center admissions portal
  2. Select the Admissions tile
  3. Select Application Status
  4. Select ā€œMid-year Gradesā€

You can self-report your mid-term grades and below that is a narrow text box that allows you to provide an update of up to 3,000 characters. It only allows one submission. No edits after that submission.

They haven’t announced the exact dates yet – I believe in March we should know more. It’s always held in the summer – June/July time period.
