University of Wisconsin Early Action Fall 2024 Admissions

I heard back as well, I got in! Does anyone know how selective honors is?

Is this for deferred to RD? Was their an email to check portal?

this is for the honors college

My child just got an email this afternoon he was accepted to L&S Honors program. I’m curious—Does everyone who applies for it get accepted?

I am a #PastBadger Class of 1989 but my daughter is a #Possible Future Badger so I am trying to find information on Admitted Students Days!

Was your student deferred in EA or RD?

Sorry, I was referring to the honors college admission - she received notice today about that and was accepted EA.

Is the expectation that Regular Decision results will be announced on Mar-22? Anyone have any historical data on the number of EA-deferred applicants who are accepted in the Regular Decision round? I realize historical data may no longer be a good predictor, given the meteoric rise in applications, but interested nonetheless.

It will likely be Mar 22 or 29. In recent years, both EA and RD have been updated to the portal at 7 pm central time on a Friday, usually the last Friday in January and the last Friday in March. You’ll see the update to the portal before the email announcement–in my son’s case, it was hours before the email. Also, prepare to have to try a number of times–the portal is not happy with thousands of people trying to get in at once (we just did our admitted students tour today–they said UW had 66,000 applicants this year!).

Thanks for the response. It’s beginning to feel like a 4.0 unweighted is almost a baseline requirement at many of these schools, especially if applying OOS, with a lot less weight given to a strong SAT/ACT score. Tough to see the posts from so many who were deferred with super solid numbers/activities, etc.

Based on our experience I think it really has to do with the major as well - business and engineering are particularly competitive

Based on limited EA stats reported on this site, most Wisconsin EA admitted students had a 3.8+ UW GPA.

Following. I was also curious, given that the Honors Program states that they don’t look at high school GPA, transcript (i.e., what courses), or standardized test scores. Besides essays, what are they going on? Just vibes?

I am just confirming, since I am now confusing all of the portal astrology for my different schools, that EVERYONE has a wisc.edu email that they see right? This is not an admitted sign?

In my uw diagnostics? Yes I see it too.

where is uw diagnostics?

It’s one of the tiles you can add to MyUW home page. Historically it had some portal tells, but they’ve been plugged

How do you add tiles to the myUW home page?

Edit: Nevermind.

Someone more tech savvy than me can hopefully chime in, not sure how I did it originally tbh

I think I searched apps from the MY UW homepage menu
