Yeah, that would be ideal, but I must say UW Madison is still better than many schools which promise a certain “by date” and then release decisions randomly over several months, keeping everyone on the tenderhooks and anxiety-max mode.
Overall, there are a very few schools which execute their admission notification process with perfection.
I’m personally totally OK with UWM compared to some terrible experiences.
Always room for improvement.
Check out UVA’s “Peabody” blog, they generally beat the “By” date, and give several days headsup.

my experience with Wisconsin in 2021 with my older child was a total disaster. They had to push their admissions decisions beyond the “by” date, several letters had incorrect information on them which needed follow up letters. It was insane how badly it all went.
Sure, I’m not claiming UWM’s admission process is the best; yet to see how they eventually execute. All I’m saying is I’m personally totally OK to wait, and they havent yet tested my patience, compared to many which did.

Agree. Hopefully they are able to give most actual decisions rather than deferring like Purdue and UT Austin did the other week. But hands down getting a decision in January (assuming reasonable execution of the process) is better than waiting until March (for UWashington).
They haven’t reneged on stated decision date, so my comments are only about a potential customer-friendly improvement.

So how are kids already in the Class of 2029 if we have not heard decisions yet? I get the top 5% of Wisconsin highschool kids are direct entry but there are kids from OOS on that page.
i was wondering that myself, some say they’re 100% committed which is odd

Some colleges let prospective students to join the incoming class pages to introduce themselves and connect with potential peers. Not sure of this one though.
Perhaps OOS recruited athletes?

i believe so, it has me use my net id and then it just says hi (my name) when i’m logged in, weird
