According to IG they will send out emails when a specific applicant’s decision is ready
“ You will receive an email when your decision is available in your Student Center, rather than sharing a date and time for all students to log in at once, which can overwhelm our system and result in you being unable to view your decision.”
that’s what makes it seem like they’ll start sending them out in batches, at least i hope so, i would hate for them to wait until friday

Yeah, that’s their way to appeal to applicants to exercise patience and not overwhelm the portal; it’s really nice of them being communicative and proactive here.
But I don’t think these “batches” would spread over from Mon to Fri.
It can be any day, presumably Wed/Thu, when they’d upload results over a few hours incrementally.
Sooner the better, of course.

I appreciate them doing some communication, but that particular message does nothing useful in dealing with the problem that they are apparently addressing.
My translation: “We don’t want you to crash our site, so wait your unidentified turn.”

Any thoughts on when decisions might start coming out?
Hoping some day within this week but I think most likely they will wait until Friday (Jan 31) unfortunately

They have had server problems/crashes in the past on decision day, and releasing the decisions at 7 pm (+/- depending on timezone) of the last possible day of notification is one way to push the server limits, which they would try to avoid. My bet is Wednesday. Then again, I may be just rationalizing for an earlier decision.

I dont think they will wait until Friday. Last year parents told me it was awful when their servers crashed and kids could not see their decisions. My guess is they want ro avoid that this year and will come in waves even if in the same day before Friday. At least that is my hope.

I’m hoping I’m wrong with my original speculations and they release decisions through the week. More anxiety but will be exciting for sure.

There is also a chance that it might come out today since last year it came out on the 26th. I’m not sure how many more people applied this year, but if it’s around the same amount, it’s possible.
Since they said the results will not be released over the weekend, it’s kind of implied that they will be released shortly after the weekend. Otherwise they could have worded it differently, at least I would have.

If you are gonna announce something -when you usually don’t say anything- be forthright, not wishy-washy.
Better than some, i guess…
Much better than PSU style notifications. They released EA decisions over a period of more than two months.
Nobody was able to crack the order in which they went.
Checking TO status at 7pm EST was a tell, and that went on for 5 weeks for us, much longer for several others.
They have an amazing admissions team, but the process sucks the daylight out of those waiting.
Burnt by that experience, Wisconsin so far feels awesome
