University of Wisconsin Early Action Fall 2025 Admissions

Ok - I did searches in FB and IG on anything that I could think of that someone might post if accepted to UW-Madison. Nothing so far. Caveat I could only see posts with public profiles.

I am assuming the previously reference to the FB was fake (ie, the person who posted on FB was not truthful). Agree?

why would they do that? Any in state students hear about other students in the state getting decisons today?

The post is still there but no one else seems to have heard anything which seems odd.

She seems to believe it. And I checked, she’s been a member of that group for some time and has interacted with other posts. But very strange!

Post is still up with 15 comments. No one has heard. Lady seems to have a legitimate profile page, she is from MN. Would be weird and cruel to lie like that. Maybe some have heard. Who knows

I don’t think there’s enough information to know either way, but I am reluctant to believe that Madison is releasing decisions until there’s concrete confirmation that someone has received a decision. Keeping an open mind though

I have a post here to distract everyone. You’re welcome, lol! So, when we log on we have never seen anything that looks like other colleges portals with the checkmarks for documents, etc. We kind of had to search around for the place to see application status within the student center app, and it just lists the college, the major, the type of application and ā€œcompleteā€. It’s very bare bones and has always made me nervous that we are missing something. Without revealing any personal info, does anyone have a picture of the standard portal? Thank you!

I agree. Hopefully someone isn’t trying to ā€œmessā€ with people.

They have to fill the class in order to be financially solvent. Yet, they can’t over-enroll because there are only so many beds (and only so many ways to stretch the current dorm capacity 3-to-a-2-person-room and having kids sleep in common areas). They have to allow everyone who’s admitted to attend. Yet everyone who is accepted has the right to decline attendance. They literally HAVE to overbook and then hope the right number of applicants attend…not too many, not too few. Can you even imagine the pressure and uncertainty THEY are facing?

Regular decision application deadline was January 15. My guess is they are doing the best they can to do a quick first-pass evaluation on their regular decision pool to estimate the numbers they will admit from that pool, because that could sway their decision on borderline applicants from early action.

i’m in state, and i’ve heard nothing

You’re not missing anything. It’s indeed barebones.

Seriously, I hate very few things in life; tro!!ing and misguiding tops the list.

I believe that’s what everyone sees. The application details haven’t changed for a while.

On the top left of our it says the specific school he applied to but I remember reading earlier some people had General Course- maybe that is what they put for L&S

mine says general course

For academic plan it says his specific major and BS but it has been like this all along because we took screen shots a while ago

Are you L&S?

Totally missed my point:

They know at this very moment who will/will not be accepted, as well as when and what the release will entail.

Yes, it is a challenging process, but they know how to do it and hire professionals who do this year in and year out, just like every other school.

My point is: when they get to the point when they know when they will be releasing - and they know that before they start loading the system - they should announce when they will be releasing.

Take a look at UVAs ā€œPeabodyā€ blog, as well as their original commitment date for release. Maybe that will help you understand my point.
