You are correct, i was replying to a request for the info.
They said it will be released by the end of the month of January. That is what your kids were told when they applied.
The school has done nothing wrong. It isnât their fault that you are too impatient to wait for the time your child was given. If they miss the deadline, you have a reason to complain. Until then, they are still holding up their end. They have no obligation to give you any more information than the date your child was told when they applied.
nope
Has âOfficial Residency Dataâ always been there in applicant profile?
It is OK to be excited and anxious. Pointing your fingers and saying the UW is being unprofessional is just ridiculous and sounds very entitled.
We can all have our opinions about what professionalism & transparency mean.
Of course they put up a commitment date. And, if they just stuck to that you would have a very strong point.
But then they did a wishy-washy update last FridayâŠ
Yes, weâve always had official residency data listed there.
Not real til the board lights up here.
isnât this contradicting what was said in the previous postâŠ?
Until I see real changes and movement reported by this group I will not believe any other thread.
Iâm glad to see someone gets itâŠ
Yes!
It is - and thatâs the person who made the previous post. She misread the information.
Not really - the poster said that someone at another Twin Cities school reported that all received rejections. At her childâs school the counselor said tomorrow was the day.
Apparently no seniors in the state of Wisconsin are getting anything done this week. And MN. Haha
This is stated right above that last comment circled above . Her friends school heard today but her school was told tomorrow. I didnât know AOâs tell specific schools when they are releasing though.
Itâs all public on FB so if you have an account you can go to the group and read the posts, but there are currently no firsthand reports of any decisions yet.
So probably thousands of parents scrambled to check the portal who knows how many times because of that post (including me). I would say lesson learned, but I never learn.
While I agree with your POV to a large extent, itâs a little bit more nuanced than you are making it out to be.
- Not giving a certain date (like a UIUC, Purdue) tends to build anxiety. UW Madison knew people were expecting their decisions last Friday, despite the commitment of âbyâ 1/31, and hence had to make that post (which I appreciate)
- Agreed that they gave a date of âby 1/31â and so far holding their end of the bargain. That means we have no reason to complain, yes, but then no one is reaching out to them and complaining, right? Whatâs the issue if a few parents/students express their frustration (about an open ended date) on a forum like this?
Letâs welcome all views!
Oh yeah - I see what youâre saying. I misread her misread and conflated the two schools she was talking about! That said, I guess firsthand info. is key and that email exchange no doubt sent a lot of traffic to the portal.
