Per their website business, engineering, dance, and music are direct admit programs.
Thanks for the clarification. My son was in engineering so that must have been why the AO told me that.
Does anybody know the waitlist to accept status and decision date from previous years?
Thereâs a ton of info in another thread on this site (UW Madison Waitlist Class of 2028).
UW posts stats on their admissions, including waitlist admissions, on their website (search Common Data Set and Rankings). Spoiler alert: They shouldnât be suggesting thereâs an âaverageâ number of students admitted from the waitlist; in the last 5 years, itâs been >50% for two of the years, and close to 0% the other 3 years.
If theyâre going to make offers, it looks like waves of decisions start coming in early-to-mid May, and historically theyâve closed the waitlist in mid-to-late July. Youâll know offers are coming if you get an e-mail asking you to confirm your interest (continued interest form), but receiving that form doesnât mean youâre going to get an offer.
Caveat: I donât have any firsthand experience; this is just what I learned from reading that thread and a few others.
Good luck! My son is in the same boat.
To get into WSB, you likely will need a 3.7 frosh year at UW and demonstrated interest in the B school. You also write an essay re same.
Our daughter was just awarded the Business Emerging Leaders scholarship. We are shocked. She really wasnât expecting it. We are OOS and the scholarship helps us so much. The application is still open until 4/1. She applied few days ago - itâs rolling.
Business Emerging Leaders (BEL) Scholarship Program | Wisconsin School of Business.
Woohoo.. thatâs really cool @art_2929 .. many congratulations ![]()
Thank you so much! We were kind of waiting for a something to help make the decision. Hard to pass this up. Really hoping after 2 more decisions today/tomorrow she can make the decision final!!! What a process!
Good luck today and tomorrow!!
good luck with both. which one today?
Cornell. It was test blind so she went for it. That thread is bananas. Since yesterday people who applied for financial aid have been able to access their scholarships and amounts. And some can sign up for admitted student tours. Expecting a denial and ready to move on!!
My older kid attends Cornell and being denied (if that happens) could be a blessing. I say that with love in my heart for the Big Red, but itâs crazy intense, even the club culture brings students to tears.
We have heard the same thing. Great school but very rigorous.
She also got a scholarship to Wisconsin recently and that brings the cost down for us there which was a pleasant surprise being out of state. And sheâs in a small cohort with this scholarship program too. About 25 kids. They also bring them to campus for three weeks this summer and they have mentor events all four years. Go where you are wanted. This gives her a small, supportive cohort at a big school from day one. Itâs a great opportunity and everything points to Wisconsin for her. Sheâs excited. I am ready!!!
Maybe our kids will meet in Madison!
Badger vs Wolverine⊠game is on! ![]()
I am super happy that your kid is getting closer to her final decision.
Thank you ![]()
