Updates on the Princess of Wales

I thought all the conspiracy theories were insane and that the photo editing issue was overblown until the palace refused to release the unedited photo. What! Why? These were supposedly minor edits. This just makes no sense. And has put me aboard the conspiracy bandwagon.

I think that although most of the edits were minor, there may have been one big edit or something. Enough to make the public discount any photo they release in the future. The thought process now going back to the ā€œnever explainā€ one.

I think that she’s had some sort of procedure or recovering from something that sounds more embarrassing. Her colon, rectal are the ones that come to mind. But with all their ā€œmental health should not be stigmatizedā€ interviews, etc., they look like hypocrites now.

After Spare, I don’t like them so much anymore. Harry’s no angel, but I believe him.

I don’t believe the baby story either, although they are parading the theory that one of Rose’s kids is already William’s (and citing the pics of him standing next to William at Charles’ coronation as evidence - apparently is very unusual for the child to be placed where he was :woman_shrugging:)

I’m also reading a lot of William being a ā€œrage-a-holicā€. I think they are teeing that one up in case it comes out that Kate’s medical issue is related to her mental state. I am starting to wonder if the medical issue was self-harm related and that’s why we haven’t seen her? I hope not, but goodness, not showing her at all after all that is swirling around, continues to baffle.

Hate to use the tabloids as a ā€œsourceā€ but as we all know they are sometimes used as a messenger by ā€œpeople close toā€ the royals… anyway, tabloid fodder suggests that Kate and the RF are suitably embarrassed by this whole episode, especially the rose hanbury affair rumors, and Kate is now leaning towards sharing her health journey once she returns to public life. All of which seems to support some sort of bowel surgery with ostomy, and that the original reason for the silence was the fact that it was an ā€œembarrassingā€ type of surgery. The photo flap still begs some questions however, and points to a very inept comms team, I’d imagine some folks are getting fired over this.
Hopefully Kate can turn this into some sort of personal triumph, and by sharing her story can give some hope to women with IBS, Crohn’s-type disorders who also deal with the ā€˜embarrassment’ factor of their diagnoses.

How about…there were some physical health concerns that needed to be addressed. And the physical health concerns also lead to some mental health concerns. It would not be the first time someone’s physical health issues led to some mental health issues as well.

This woman needs time to mend regardless of the issues…in her own time.

But the photo mess was just plain unnecessary.

I’m leaning toward ā€œboth/andā€ explanations. I’m swayed by the many pics of finger injuries to believe that Kate has an eating disorder, which can have abdominal complications, but also mental health ones. And I do think there is something within the royal family that triggered this PR crisis, she’s not just recovering from surgery IMHO, there’s something amiss in her relationships as well. But I don’t think Will has a 4-year-old love child with someone in their social circle and no one has known until now. And my opinion is worth nothing as an American who only follows the royals when there is a big kerfuffle!

If somebody was getting fired you’d think they’d have publicly blamed them to coincide with the firing. It doesn’t make sense to secretly fire an anonymous staffer but have the princess publicly take the blame - that’s kinda the opposite of what usually happens isn’t it?

Yes that’s absolutely right. Maybe there is a private war going on between Kate’s chief of staff and Williams chief of staff over who’s getting fired? Or maybe Kate’s the one that’s being fired :smiling_face_with_tear:
My lowbrow gossip accounts say that the photo flap was orchestrated by the palace to embarrass Kate and bring her into line.

I’m fine with her taking as much time as she needs, or thinks she needs, to recover. The last few years have been very hard on her and William, losing Harry, the Queen, moving, resettling her kids in new schools, and holding a full time job. Maybe she just wants to nap every day!

When I had a c-section, it took me almost 6 months to get back to walking at the pace I’d been used to. I looked fine, could go out of the house, but I remember shopping with a friend, with the baby in a stroller and telling friend she needed to slow down because I just couldn’t keep up. This was after my daughter in the NICU for 3 months so I got a good 8 hours of sleep every night to recover and had nurses tending to the baby but it still wasn’t enough to recover fully.

Take your time (and privacy) Princess Catherine. England will still be there in the fall for you to cut ribbons and wave.

I’ve lost track. Is there it possible that the abdominal surgery was a hysterectomy (with or without cancer implications) ?

Is that a hypothesis proposed? Yes.

Social media is saying the BBC is on standby for some news from the Royal family by Wednesday. We shall see.

That was a false statement started by a man on Twitter, which got picked up by everyone, and then he deleted it. The problem is that it looked authentic, and it took traction and was shared thousands of times.

What is a photo ā€œflapā€?

Kategate. Flap is slang for scandal / riled up about something

@conmama
To be in a flap = to be riled up or in a state of panic
