UPenn Class of 2028 Official Thread

Penn’s checklist does not have a function for displaying the status of applicants’ mid-year report.

Yes. she said .

Yale has it on their portal checklist and it is marked as received for my S24.

Don’t believe everything you read on Reddit. I invite you to search the Penn threads here on CC from prior years of admissions cycles because this issue comes up every year. Every year.

Yet the answer hasn’t changed: Penn does not have an indicator for mid-year reports on the checklist in the applicant portal. I am a Penn parent. My Quaker went through this process two years ago. Trust me.

I had the same problem. It says it uploaded a document but does show up on the uploaded doc list. But I got email confirmations later so it was all good I guess.

Thank you for clarification!

I can attach my documents, but it doesnt let me save

Attach all your documenhts once, even if it doesnt save. You should get email confirmations of the uploads, thats how it went with me.

so like not separating all these documents into different categories?

I followed instrcutions, but I remember thinking it was not going through… but it did.

It’s been two week since an alumni has been assigned in my portal. Shall I send an inquiry to the admission office? Thanks

No. The interviewer will reach out.

Anyone who has done the interview, what was it like? How long, what kind of questions were asked, any insights? Also, do the interviews have any impact or influence the decisions? Thanks!

Interview usually plays a little role in your application, only if you really super performance in your interview, other wise, just kind justification what was written in your application. I do see the person this EA, with 30 minute talk to 2 hours, it was that talk to make him get in with SAT only 1490… and just two sports (captains) activities…

Thanks!

I think if you have applied to one of their Coordinated Dual Degree programs and have been assigned one of their alumni then it probably will be weighted more. The interviewer will most certainly explore a fit in the program. My S24 was in the ED pool, and he was explicitly told that by the interviewer that it was going to be evaluative.

is there any downside for me to initiate the inquiry? thanks

Does Upenn do rolling admissions or issue likelies within their RD round?

Penn does do likely letters.

Usually in the fall and to support athletic recruiting from what I’ve seen anecdotally. Has anyone heard of examples of likely letters from Penn in the RD round?
