@Rydersauce I am pretty sure that’s what they all said, that’s what mine said
Oh I thought the essay you wrote was in your email
@Rydersauce nope that was just on twitter
I’ve just been watching SNL to forget about stress. Their stuff is great
Hey everybody!
So in the past I had told myself I would avoid reading this thread because I thought it would just stress me out, but with the decision date being released I felt like I had to check in. I just wanted to say good luck to everyone! I’m from right outside of Philly and i’ve seen that there are people applying from all over the world, so regardless of where I go I’m excited to meet lots of people from different places. You all seem like a really cool group of people and I hope you all get in
Hi! New here. Applied to Nursing and, until I got the email today, I wasn’t very nervous. Now, I am a mess. I wish I could just fall asleep and wake up at 2:55 on Friday…Nothing special about me or my application. I am just super passionate about becoming a nurse practitioner and there is no better place to go then Penn!!
@gottabme i wanna be an NP too! My mom is an NP and I love what she does, plus there are so many options! Do you have an FB, we can add you to our nursing gc!
@fridaydeathday username!!!
@sajeunesse lol I’m planning to get giant chocolate chip cookies from my school’s cafeteria, because they are literally the sweetest food ever, so I can be crying with them
When we get our decisions letters, does the portal do anything special if you get accepted? I know Dartmouth does confetti… hahah
Hey guys! Class of 2020 ED applicant and Penn 2020 student! I was a part of the 2020 ED thread last year and reading through some of your guys posts reminded me of all the good(yet somewhat stressful) times I had on this forum. I actually met my roommate through this forum and a couple of other friends that I now have at Penn, so college confidential has a special place in my heart. It seems like you are all incredible students and I wish you all the best of luck on December 9th. I remember how terrified I was on December 10th last year. Just remember that no matter the results, you all will do incredible things in your future and college careers. If you guys have any questions about Penn, feel free to shoot me a message:)
@Arronn my choc chip cookies at school suck, i can only choke them down with milk. I think I’ll stress bake and make some this week
@Makooks aw thanks for checking in! That’s super cool, what school are you in? And does the acceptance letter play a sound or anything if you are accepted? What did you do when you were accepted?
@Makooks thats so cool!! I also do hope everything works out in the end haha
@frazzled14 I get emotional watching people’s acceptance videos on YouTube if you get in the portal plays the red and the blue<33333
@ajs123 I’m applying to M&T and have SEAS as my second choice!
@sajeunesse if it’s supposed to play a sound I’ll be turning my volume off lol. That stresses me out
@NoahTapp I just started Designated Survivor and it’s pretty good!! It’s really dramatic though, but definitely distracting.
Did all of you have an interview? If you did, was it an alumni interview?
@fatidiot I had an alumni interview! It went pretty badly though.
@frazzled14 @financemajor37 Penn had a 9.4% overall acceptance rate for the class of 2020.
Of course as you said yourself everything is speculative since Penn does not release individual school acceptance rates etc but if I had to bet I would say the Wharton yield is around 75%, similar to MIT and slightly lower than the 80% ballpark of Harvard and Stanford. The dual degree programs (M&T,LSM, Huntsman) are probably closer to 80%. The overall yield rate for Penn was 68% last year.
Also this is just i guess but I imagine that Wharton fills a slightly higher percentage of its class from ED than the 54.4% of Penn overall.
This year there are 6,075 ED apps, more than any other year for about 1300-1330 ED spots. Last year Penn slightly over-admitted because they underestimated the yield, so I do not know if they are going to make up for it this year by reducing the target class size slightly or not. Lol I do not mean to make people more nervous than they already are but thought I would share this info.
Best of luck to everyone!!!
