rejected. 33 ACT, high GPA, one of the best high schools in the country. Shocked
My D was also deferred. Deferred rate seems awfully high. I’m curious if anyone can get stats on how many were deferred. I gotta admit that I totally dismissed the “conspiracy theory” talk here about them deferring everyone who didn’t get their application read in time, and now I’m starting to wonder…
i gtot accepte di cant brathe fdljsh
@kzswim Where did you get that information?
Deferred from Wharton…quite shocking honestly since i was expecting a flat out rejection.
four more months of misery.
deferred…what are the chances in getting after being deferred
Is it time to start filling up that ED results thread?

They did read all applications. It is not the reason for the deferral. They do take a lot kids from the deferral pool. Good luck!.
Accepted
Congrats to everyone, there is so much more opportunity out there. The road doesn’t end here.
my ib predicted was a 45, my sat 1500+, my sat IIs 750+ and i had several international awards and great recs. honestly can’t believe i was deferred – idk what i could have done better.
Accepted! totally forgot about CC in all the craziness. congrats to those accepted, and to those deferred/rejected- dont lose hope, you’ll end up at a fantastic school
rejected. Sucks, but whatever. They missed out.
Hey Class of 2021 applicants! My name is Louis Lin and Im a freshman at Penn Class of 2020! I thought I would reach out to you guy cause I know that I would have loved that last year. So if you have any questions or just want to talk about Penn, whether its about excitement, anxiety, or anything in between, I’m here just message me! And if I don’t know the answer I will try to connect you to someone on campus who can help!
Congrats to those accepted! Hang in there those who were deferred (roughly 15% of the deferred people got accepted last year). To those rejected, I’m sorry and I know its cliche but you will 100% get into another school that you will love and may be a better fit for you than Penn and good luck!
Best,
Louis
Also congrats to who got in! Seeing this thread, I know it’s well deserved for you all
It’s been a pleasure to know everyone and I hope we all will do big things in the future. Those who got deferred, hang in there. And those who got rejected, we’re all gonna do great later. Keep y’alls heads up! (also J COLEE)
lol uchicago here I come
Rejected
Congratulations to everyone who was accepted! People who were rejected and deferred, one college acceptance or rejection doesn’t define your self-worth and calibre. I truly believe that some things are destined to happen, and we’re all going to end up at colleges where we fit perfectly! True, you now need to reconcile that your hopes and dreams of attending Penn are put on hold temporarily (and finishing off your RD apps :P), but who knows what the future holds? You may end up feeling six months down the line that Penn just wasn’t the place for you and the admissions committee somehow figured that out. Conversely, your love for Penn may grow, and you might just end up pursuing it with such dogged determination over the next few years that you end up doing a masters or an MBA there! After all, we’re just taking our first steps into the real world and I doubt one rejection should (or even CAN) stop any of you from achieving your dreams! Simply by virtue of being a part of this self-selected group of applicants who decided to apply ED to Penn, you have proven yourself to be someone who is capable of working hard enough to overcome obstacles like this one. So, take your time to mourn, then bounce back and kick ass!
