Success to me is a much more than just being able to do what I always dreamt of doing. It is to excel in what I do and push myself to the extreme to be able to achieve the impossible. There is a very fine line between achievement and effort. An effort transforms into an achievement if and only if you pressure yourself to bring out your true capability. Engineering and management, are disciples which are unique to each other yet when merged they can make us capable to overcome the most hard-hitting scenarios we face in this complex and challenging world of unending possibilities. And it is the cocktail of these two which, I believe will help me forge my future such that I am able to deliver what I deserve and am capable of.
I believe in integrating these two fields together as I consider that science finds its true triumph in the fact that it has made our life a better place to live in and it is business management which has created a market for these latest technologies to approach the consumer. According to me the most efficient and profitable scenario can exist only by the conglomeration of both business and technical worlds because ,research and development of a technology or a product without giving any consideration to its expected user response , affordability or market analysis can do no good to the manufacturer and consumer altogether.
The Jerome Fisher Program in Management and Technology is a program which I believe can give a true inter-disciplinary experience to me. A blend of these two so distinctive fields in one intensive program like this will help me shape into a successful engineering entrepreneur and this is what I dream to be. Science has no meaning to it until it reaches the masses and it is business management which gives us the perfect way to serve the world with what science has to offer. Business management provides us the way of converting the concepts we develop in engineering into real world applications.
Out of all the fields in engineering, physics has a particularly been my driving force in choosing engineering as my future path. Engineering has been my primary preference, since I have explored this fascinating world of science. And getting an opportunity to be able to fuse it with management makes me realize that I will be better equipped to tap my potential entirely. Economics which is the very heart of business management has always held my fancy. Be it the economy of my nation or the world I have tried to understand its impacts on everyone, seen management evolve bringing breakthrough rise in economies all around the world. I feel that economics and physics though very diverse and different fields are solely based on great observation, analysis, and logical thinking. The big leaders and entrepreneurs of today havent made their fortune or big name by any gifted animal instinct but by hours of keen observation over market trends, and consumer demands. The recession brought such instability all over the world, I suppose had engineers been more secure of their knowledge in economy and business management the consequences would not have been so wide-spread. This relation between economics and science, which may be is overlooked by masses, holds the key to entrepreneurship and according to me will, remain to be the cornerstone of entrepreneurship years from now. Both these fields though are hard to master, but the M&T program of Penn University which took shape almost 30 years back and yet growing and improving must be the best way to excel in both.

rate it on a scale of 1-10

9…
Have u asked for Fin Aid from upenn?
If u have then ure in for rejection, & if u havent then u have a really gr8 chance.

I can’t really grade it or something. But its a very good essay and nicely written as well…

Firstly, you shouldn’t be posting essays publicly.
Now that you’ve gone ahead and done it already, I’ll tell you what I thought of it. The essay is too verbose and personally, the biggest downside is that it lacks a soul. It doesn’t tell me as much about you as it should and focuses on the ‘side dishes’ too much. If you are willing to fix that, you’re almost there. Also, cut down on the length a bit. It’s a bit draggy right now. If I were you, I’d try and make it flow more. A lot more. Lastly, it’s not Penn University, it’s either ‘Penn’ or ‘University of Pennsylvania’. You really don’t want to get the name wrong.

I disagree with USApplicant. Even if you ask for aid, you can get in, though you’re chances are severely reduced.

FYI, I was accepted to Jerome Fisher last year with aid. :)
