yeah i’m excited to go to rutgers hc next year 
i was actually looking at all the dorming options and started to finish up my requirements and then i got the email haha. upenn or not i think im going to a great school and ill end up where i belong. i hope the same applies to you all :-)))

how many do you think could get off?
Your guess is as good as mine. If there is an issue aroung granting visas to students from one country (ie, China), it could be a few dozen. If it is usual summer melt, it could be very few. My guess is that few students who plan to matriculate in the fall are going to get offers from other schools that they prefer, and that’s the source of most openings.
One of the reasons they ask that you only remain on the WL if you can confirm you will attend if given an offer is that they this isn’t a “wave” of admission but a need to fill empty spots.

Should I still send a loci?
no that wud be not recommended…the regional ao came to my school and she strictly said writing more than one loci wud do u more harm than good..
Could I ask my counsellor to send an additional LoR now?
i mean its a downside now…my counselor contacted them ..she is in close touch with ao’s at penn..they clearly said they wont look at it and on top of it wud hamper ur chances..

does she have any insight to how many people will be pulled off?
penn is wating to see how many students defer their enrollment for next year as of now…secondly , they sent out mail to some of the students about visa issues…so they are figuring out a number as of now

interesting. tysm. the 70 people aligns with what i’ve heard from a upenn student so we shall seee! there are also a lot of international students who haven’t been interviewed for their f1 visas yet, and upenn’s class is usually 13% international students for each enrolling class.
on a semi related note i feel so bad for international students. they deserve better than the treatment that they’re experiencing right now 
i also know that deferring forms are due this week

Then which ways do they accept? What efforts can we make? Is it a call from Counselor? Does the Counselor’s assistance in making calls increase the success rate?
As international students, unlike your American high school counselors who know the admissions officers before, is it also harmful for our counselors to make phone calls?
Since they are willing to defer already admitted internationals for classes next year, I guess they might as well take int’ls like us off the WL too (deferring is an option after all). And, as per my assumptions, a college like UPenn wouldn’t change their admission policy and easily submit to Trump administration. They might have waited all this time to find a way around the visa policy

phone calls aren’t part of official admission procedure, so that shouldn’t be harmful…
