I’m an American student (originally from California) studying at la Sorbonne in Paris. I’ve been offered a place on a graduate course at the University of Oxford and was wondering if anyone has any advice on the manner in which I should proceed with securing funding for my course.
Due to my parents’ working class background, I envision having to take out a loan to cover the totality of the cost of my master’s degree (currently waiting on responses from various Oxford funding trusts and studentships). I understand that the U.S. government offers loans for American students studying in the UK, however I will not be able to apply directly until being assigned a college. For the interim, if anybody would have any other recommended routes of funding (a particular U.S. bank, fund, or US/international scholarship body aside from Rhodes), it would be greatly appreciated.
