Yes, Tufts over Michigan. But Wake Forest over both? WHAT.

^ Several years ago, people complained about Tufts Syndrome. What a sad day…

Tufts and Wake Forest are overrated.

Probably about as much as Northwestern is…

UCB, Northwestern is a good school. I also think it’s ironic that Michigan continues to slip. Do you honestly believe Michigan is #29-30?

^^^Using statistics that hurt publics more than private schools. I am not surprised at all.

^^ No, but I don’t think NU is a top 10 school either.

NU is not a top 10 school, and I don’t think anyone really believes that it is. More ridiculous than NU being a top 10 school is NU being 3 spots behind Caltech and MIT.

^ UCB, that is entirely your opinion. Frankly, I don’t care that much. However, I believe NU should receive more recognition than it usually gets on this forum.

“More ridiculous than NU being a top school is NU being 3 spots behind Caltech and MIT”

And, more ridiculous than NU being a top school is NU being in the top 10 when Dartmouth, UChicago, and Brown are not. NU is a great school, but it beating Cornell by 6 just goes to show the randomness of usnews.

I am curious about Florida State…anyone with access?

^^^ It’s all opinion of course. NU is sorta just plain vanilla to me…good vanilla, but plain.

After the uproar these rankings are going to receive, and I’m sure a lot of new business for USNWR, you will see that they will tweak the variables again next year. This will have the effect of more people buying the results, since they once again will change, and a nice profit for the publisher.

^ UC Berkeley is sorta plain chocolate to me… good chocolate, but plain.

UC Davis and UCSB are catching up to UCSD and UCI is falling.

All the CA schools are to be sold at auction. To cover state shortfalls, you know.

Over-rated–> UCD, UCSB & UCI

Can someone give us #51 to 75?

Also, what about top 25 LACs?

University of Binghampton is #51

Columbia – too high
Stanford, Caltech and IT – too low
Notre Dame, Emory, Vanderbilt and WashingtonU – too high
Berkeley – too low
Wake Forest – too high

Virginia barely hangs on from year to year…unless there is a formula change we’re going to fall off. Death to public education outside of California as we know it. =(
