<p>actually oddly, it seems that a lot of finalists don’t make it more than one year… although some do, but it’s not a guarantee.</p>

Last year seems a bit fluky. Roughly half of the Finalists eligible to make camp for another year do.</p>
<p>Got an email. Apparently I’m “under consideration to attend the USABO National Finals”, whatever that means.</p>
<p>Looks like the announcement definitely will be on the 15th.</p>

<p>Yeah, they make you sign a form promising to go before they’ll make you a Finalist. ^^ That’s why Finalists are informed a few days early.</p>

<p>There’s a luck element to it. Maybe the part of bio you know best will end up with more questions on average on the exam, maybe it won’t.</p>

<p>Idk if they sent them all out yet but I assume they wouldn’t send them out over an extended period of time.
My hypothesis (lol=P) about all this is that they’re sending out these emails early to more than 20 people because they’re expecting some people to attend other camps and those people may answer “unable to attend” USABO. Then, after all the faxes have been sent back, they pick the top 20 or so that say “yes able to attend.”</p>
<p>Haven’t got an email yet, so I probably didn’t make it. Congrats to everyone who did, it was a hard semi (in my opinion). Great job!</p>
