<p>Ahhh to clarify: people who got the email are under “consideration to be a finalist in USABO” not definitely a finalist=P (I’d like to think so that those we say yes to everything are in) but the official list won’t be released until Friday.</p>
<p>Lol but those who havent gotten emails arent even under consideration and therefore no chance at all.</p>

<p>I was mislead by that USABo email today. =( Why would they start an email with “Congratulations” if it’s not about getting into the next round. xD I was so excited in 2nd period and screamed in the middle of class because I thought I got in. >.<‘’’ I called all my family too! After 30 minutes, I calmed down and reread the email and saw all the “in consideration” things they put in there and realized I was fluked. =(( What a bummer.</p>

<p>Does anyone have clearer facts on how many people received these emails? I’m counting about 5 people on cc who received them, which seems to be about how many people actually made finals last year. It doesn’t really seem likely that CEE sent out more than 25 or 30 of these unless they expect every person in the top 20 to turn the invitation down.</p>
<p>Also, as an aside, we definitely should be able to start discussing answers now.</p>
<p>Double check that no emails went to spam, either. Although if it did, they’ll probably call you or something. (They called me last year).</p>

<p>As for number of people who get these emails: definitely not many, methinks. Last year, they called me right before they released the names, so I think I was 20th-30th and they called me after people declined. </p>

<p>Gratz to you sir ^^ though now I’m a little worried. Has anyone else received an email like NightShadeQueen’s? I know they confirmed my fax as well, but they said something to the effect of “thank you for expressing your interest to participate”.</p>

<p>Hey guys, don’t panic. I was one of last year’s finalists, and I used a nonconventional way of submitting the form (scan + email, since I don’t have access to a fax machine) – two reasons why I may have gotten earlier notification.</p>

<p>This must be a joke right? I didn’t learn about USABO until 1 week before the Local test and it was my highest goal to even make it to Semifinals…maybe Kathy Frame sent this email to the wrong person?! My email doesn’t look like you guys too…omg omg OMG</p>

<p>Look at USAMO - they publish students names and scores online and it is so transparent. Why does CEE keep everything a big secret? Seeing your names on the winners list is always a big boost for you and others who are preparing.</p>

~30-35 [or ~20-35] people received an email stating that they were under consideration, barring nightshadequeen’s results.
Then this morning [April 12, 2011] people received confirmations or something along those lines.</p>
