Hi I am looking for a USABO tutor that can help me train. I can’t find one… Do you guys know where to find one? I also can’t find any classes that are online or close to where I live, which is in masschusetts. I tried Study of Life but they don’t respond anymore.
Why do you feel that you need a tutor?
@cdubs129 You can do what most people do and just read the textbook a couple of times.
I read the textbook twice and still do not think I have the sufficient knowledge to know how to answer a lot of the questions.
Does this really work, I feel the USABO open exam goes into more depth than what the Cambridge covers.
Read the following books:
Campbell’s Biology
Raven’s Biology of Plants
Alberts’ Molecular Biology of the Cell
If so, you will be fully prepared for all of the USABO exams! Since it’s summer, you have enough time to start and finish all of these books with enough dedication, so good luck!
Campbell’s is enough for opens. I sped-read the book in a week and made it to semis. For semis, the three books that @Muufeen mentioned are considered sufficient to cover the material.
Remember that no one answers all of the questions. To qualify for semis, you only need to get about half of the questions on the open correct.
Some people say Albert’s molecular biology doesn’t really help. Does it only help with semis?
