Thanks for the insight W.o.T.

Guys I have a question. I applied to Marshall first choice and econ second choice.

If I don’t get into the competitive biz school, then I DO have a good shot to get into CLAS right? Since all you need is ~3.6 gpa for CLAS?

archieg - If you unfortunately do not get into your first choice (Marshall) then you have a possibility to be accepted to your second choice (CLAS Economics) depending on your qualifications. But admissions would have to make room for those who chose economics as their primary choice first until you can get a shot, since you listed it as an option.

Usually there happens to be a lot of Marshall applicants and there are very few economics applicants who choose economics as their first choice.

For the GPA, you can never be really too sure. Just try your hardest.

IF you guys get in, where is everyone planning on living considering decisions come out so freaking late?

and what does everyone plan on doing next year? clubs, frats, sororities? everyone alreayd have friends they plan on hanging out with ? or gonna chill with some transfers?

Most people on here got housing last year - even the ones that heard in June. It was a little more complicated for those who got late spring grade requests and didn’t hear until mid-July. If possible, I’d like to live on campus, or as close to campus as possible. That would be such a pleasant change in comparison to the past couple of years where I’ve had to commute 40 minutes each way on public transportation every day.

As far as social life is concerned, it would be awesome to join a frat, but frankly I don’t have thousands of dollars just laying around to pay the fees. I do plan on hanging out with some transfers, but mostly I plan on branching out and meeting lots of new people. I’m a pretty amicable guy. I also plan on joining clubs associated with pre-law students, philosophy students, and politics. Lastly, I’m very much looking forward to not working at my current job and taking advantage of the internship opportunities in LA through USC. I’m getting excited just thinking about it. :)

Grey, that is a good list. You pretty much summed up what I want to do as well.

grey… you forgot the jack man…
haha im just playing… i may join the trojan knights, but the most important thing for me now is to get into USC and find some good housing. both of which are no easy tasks to come by.

jack :)

Housing I’ll either get the apartments since it is cheaper or whichever is the best social area regardless of the money.

If I got into USC, I’d most likely join a fraternity depending on how I feel about my course load. I’m a legacy with a fraternity at USC already so I’d most likely join it to get the connections (my brother got his job as an i-banker for Morgan Stanley by fraternity). As for friends who are already at USC, I’m gonna hangout with a lot of my high school and cc friends who got into USC.

But everything is a year from now, since I’ll be applying for Fall 10’. I hope you guys that frequently post on this thread get in and can come by next year on the USC thread to tell your great experiences.

with the tax returns, are they supposed to be sent thru college board or can they just be faxed?

They are supposed to be faxed.

hey guys, sorry i havent written in a while, been a rough weekend ![]()
friday was awesome, got shwasted and that was awesome, came home and fell asleep in the shower
which is where the crap starts… apparently, somehow water was coming out of the shower, so it flooded like half the room(i live in student dorms) by the time my girlfriend came home like an hour later… then i spend all of saturday just trying to get the water out by soaking towels and wringing them out on the balcony… i must have got out at least 3-4 gallons… seriously… ridiculous… ITS STILL WET! ffffss…!! aahh… its getting me so pi.ssed off! its freaking 3 days later… and the whole place smells like a freakin swamp! haha w.tf…
after school today im going to get a shi-load of lysol to just frickin bomb the place… gonna probably spend an hour or so using blow dryers(for hair) to dry the last of the room… its just cuz its a carpet, not hardwood floors… aahh… haha
oh well, itll be a good story once its over ![]()
other than that, im stressed as ***** cuz i got A LOT of homework and tests and lab reports to do =/ been slacking too much!
but on the plus side, ive finished and sent it all the required stuff for my application to University Of Colorado - Boulder, which is my backup
and i emailed an admissions counselor and briefly told her like a fraction of my
credentials/stats’ and she said i had a strong chance of admission
so that was nice, im pretty sure ill get in, otherwise ill be INCREDIBLY surprised…
hmm what else… i feel like im blogging
haha…
yea if i get into USC, i wanna try to join a few groups, like pre-med and that kind of stuff, and i wanna see if i can get to do some undergraduate research in neuroscience!
would be soooo freaking awesome :D:D and then try to do well in school + party
hopefully join a frat!
btw, whats this about fees? how much does it cost ? i dont think itll be a problem, hopefully, as long as its not TOO much :P

if i get in then i def want to live in a dorm on campus… like that NEEDS to happen. I also want to join a frat, maybe do some community service stuff, find a job, etc whatever i can come by. As far as ppl, i want to hang out with transfers and just whoever else I can meet while im there! also i have some HS friends @ USC and i have a lot of friends / family (not to mention a girl) that i’ll be able to see whenever i want – which is part of the reason i want to be there so bad

so yeah

did anyone see my earlier question?

yooooooooooo my peopleeeeeeeee :D

ns89, btw, are you in anyway interested in genetics?

Yo zircushio i “thumbed up” your myspace site on stumble so hopefully people will come across some of your mixes :)

Thought some of u might take an interest in this:

http://www.dailytrojan.com/news/program-aims-to-up-transfer-admission-1.209082

Cool for the people that fall into that category. As for myself, I am from a four year so blah.

Good find, but I think someone (maybe it was you) posted this previously.

So, it is after April 1 guys! Does that mean that USC is actually LOOKING at our applications! That they have actually begun to look at them and maybe even have made some decisions as to who will be admitted!? Although, if any decisions have been made, they will not be mailed out. I am just thinking that they are probably in the first few steps of looking at our apps. Maybe right now they are just sorting them or something. Oooooh SO exciting!

If I get in, when whoever on here gets in, even the people from frigging Sweden, Jersey, wherever, we are going to have a party. Not just a damn pizza party. Zircushio- bring the jack. I’ll bring the patron.

zirc - yea i think genetics are pretty cool
not my major interest, but def. one of the cooler aspects of biology, esp in general biology :P

hehe nice link, thats cool for CCC students
but still i dont know… if i get into usc im gonna start something to help international students… its way harder for us… CCC students at least know everything, because its the same system… and if you cant frickin read what classes will transfer, then that is your fault for not taking the time… basically this program is just spoon feeding people like babies because, thus eliminating any form of hard work on their own… well not really but it just feels like theyll get everything handed to them…

international students(like me) come from a completely different school system and have no idea… like seriously, i have a pretty good record of community service and charity work, but i didnt even know i could put that on an application, because i didnt do it for that reason… now i found out i could… + for example sweden doesnt have any academic awards or school clubs/organizations… WERE the ones at a disadvantage… and so out of the like 25% of transfers that are admitted, 65% are CCC students, so that leaves like 10% or something of all applicants to normal students from 4year schools, and out of that, theres like 5% int. students, so like less than 1% of all applicants probably… + we get NO fin aid… basically like no scholarships… no help whatsoever… sucks…

haha captain, i like the honorable mention there ;D
and yes we will, in the slight possible minimal offchance that i maybe get admitted, then hel.ls to the yea :D

i’m on stumble? =0
