Thx for the link, KCud ! I found people on USC thread are more helpful than others. I tried to get some help from other thread, say, NYU, but they didn’t even give me a f**k…

oops a bit late, oh well :P

If you read the comments on that article they are pretty interesting

Why did that second person from the bottom want less CC transfers?

yes status update:

!

CC transfers are looked down upon for some reason. Not by all, but by some. I’ve found (after arguing endlessly with people like that) that they are just ****ed off about paying for an extra two years of expensive tuition.

and wow- p.i.s.s. is censored. Crazy. Sterile. Crazy sterile.

My status finally change…woo I was getting kinda worried

■■■■■ grey. hahahaha

and yes, i agree CC is looked down upon, unfortunately :(

just cause we’re not the original offspring like the baby freshmen?

discrimination!!

ccers are looked down upon because people think they werent smart enough to get into a good college to begin with… i currently attend a 4 yr and choose not to view it that way. while its definitely true for some cases there are def other circumstances (money ect.). also i dont see anything wrong with givng someone a second chance

finally-- they updated my profile.

sigh i really hate how people always look down on those who go to CC. there were so many college snobs at my high school. i’ve met tons of smart people at CC and it’s really not as bad as everyone makes it seem.

i finally got my first status update

Yeah, I think at first my parents looked down upon CC, too. Maybe cuhs I’m asian and I come from a pretty educated family. But now, they think differently about it. Not because I attend there, but because I’m doing better at my CC than I’ve ever done in my entire life. I think they’re really glad I went to a CC because through CC I learned how to be motivated and I also learned better study habits.

But who cares that other people look down on a CC, right? From what I hear, I think CC transfers have it better than those who just enter universities right after hs. First off, we save SOOO much money, second of all, we have better interactions with our professors, PLUS we (as in most) are probably more driven than those who people who just party all daay.

I agree allisonn. Something that I love about CC is the IGETC, even though it’s not identical to USCs requirements, the requirements for those who are also applying to the UCs give us more time and freedom to explore different classes and interests. If it wasn’t for their liberal arts/general ed requirement I doubt I would be as excited to major in my humanities major. I was dead set on business/econ just because its the “career safety” but it wouldn’t have made me happy. Those who go in directly into a 4 year without a good liberal arts background I doubt ever get to have the freedom to pick and choose. Or maybe i’m wrong. i know i wouldn’t because i’d be to paranoid about financial aid not kicking in after the 4th year.

hahaha i know what you mean about the asian thing (i’m asian). every time i go to someone’s house and they ask me about what college i’m going to, their faces are like ._.

on the other hand, my mom was very accepting about it. only other parents and non-CC students have given me a couple of nasty comments about it. oh well

yeah at first I didn’t want to go to a CC but then I thought, I rather go to a CC for a year or two then transfer to my dream school rather than go to a 4 year school I was iffy on just so I can say I go to a University

I know people who are commuting to Cal States (on average 2 hour drives) because it is to expensive to dorm but they want to transfer to a UC. I told them that it is a lot easier and cheaper to go to a CC first then transfer and most said they dont want to see dumb going to a CC

oh well, I like the fact I am saving money and getting an education that is probably better than others
