at the transfer session i went to, the guy said CC students have a higher chance because why would USC WANT to make articulation agreements with 4-year universities? why would schools want you to leave theirs for another school? 4-year institutions were not meant to be transferred from. that’s why some people might have trouble transferring units from one university to USC.

he talked about the writing requirement for UCs. although some UC students have already taken english and taken a bunch of higher classes that require the writing requirement, they might have to submit forms or have some problems with credit transfer? something like that…

If you’d like to see your college’s articulation agreement, just replace the ceeb code with your university/college’s code & replace the name of your university at the end of the URL.

i didn’t say USC didn’t make any articulation agreements with 4-year universities though. it’s just what i remember from the transfer session (what the guy said about 4-years not wanting their students to transfer to another). i didn’t pay much attention to that portion cause he directed it to the 4-year students.

Articulation histories are available for CSULA, CSULB, CSUN, CSPU Pomona, UCLA, and UCR. They represent course work which USC will accept in transfer to meet course credit, equivalencies, and general education. The histories have been developed without assistance or input from the universities above and were developed for the sole use of USC students. Courses not listed in the histories have not yet been reviewed for transfer and in some cases may be appropriate for transfer. "

I JUST posted links to other articulation agreements not listed in that paragraph. USC has articulation agreements available for every school someone has transferred to USC from. I was told this at my Trojan Transfer meeting (for legacies denied admission). If the courses are listed in the articulation agreement, then USC doesn’t have any problem with accepting those courses for USC credit. From years and years of transfer students + their course history, USC has been able to compile a list of acceptable courses that meet or exceed their course expectations, and thus worthy of credit. Many of the articulation agreements from other 4-year universities, specifically UC’s & CSU’s, have an extensive list of USC accepted/transferable courses.

Take a look at some of the UC AA’s I’ve posted links to.
Every course I’ve taken at UCSD is listed there.

yes, i looked at those lists. i didn’t completely ignore your post. the articulation agreements for some of the colleges are not as extensive as the ones for some CCs. i know it’s not impossible to transfer from a 4-year to USC. it just MIGHT be a little harder. it’s not my concern because i am not from a 4-year

"The information in these histories is advisory only and is not official—it may be altered in the future without notification. USC students should ALWAYS fill out a pre-approval form to get confirmed information about courses they wish to take. Applicants should confer with Admissions. "

that’s what i meant by it being a little harder. there are some courses from CCs that require us to provide the course syllabus, but most of the time, we don’t have to fill out the pre-approval form they are talking about or contact admissions for credit agreements.

well either way, if everyone has taken courses that will be given credit at USC upon admission then i don’t think many of us will have too big a problem with that

hey, quick question wonderin if any1 knows the following:

Transfer to USC Bus. Admin.Major/Accounting Minor
When ur admitted in the Bus. Admin Major as a Transfer from CC, is it PRE Bus Admin? as In you’re not actually in the major until after you take some hard classes at USC? Also how would I go about getting an Accounting Minor at USC as a Bus. Admin. Major?

May is almost here…good luck Viterbi/Really smart Junior transfers
Sophomores Cross-Fingers for Spring Grade requests in June
All CC’ers in general, join the group [NEW CC USC Transfers!! | Facebook](Redirecting...) and i can see the group photo in front of tommy already :D

GlennRyan1210 - Depending on if you’ve completed the necessary prereqs for Marshall will determine whether you can be able to take certain Business courses. If you are admitted you will not go into “Pre-Business”, you will immediately be put into Marshall for Business Administration. In order to attain a minor in Accounting from Leventhal School of Accounting, it will be determined by taking certain courses from the school.

That’s waaaay better than the ridiculous system they have at UCLA. Not only is the accounting minor at UCLA difficult to get, when ur admitted as a Bus. Econ. your only admitted as PRE-Bus. Econ…You have to go get A’s in 3 extremely difficult classes where only 20% of the 300 person class (full of smart kids) get’s As! I think I’ve just made my decision of where I want to transfer to…lol.

I applied as an international relations major for fall of 09’ as a Saddleback College transfer student and am finishing up my last spring semester. I got a letter asking for a transcript for Irvine Valley College (sister school of Saddleback) where I am taking a statistics class, even though I submit a transcript reflecting the class as IP…

gosh me too…i really really want to go to usc but i know i wont make it in this round because my grades were relatively low compared to everyone else but whatev i have a whole new year to bring up my grades and really impress them

and yea lamchops, i know what you mean… its sooo late. i wish they did it like other schools and notidifed you 3-4 weeks after your application is due… like i turned in everything for usc on the deadline, feb 2, and we find out in like mid may(hopefully)…
