wow 3 new pages since i left san jose. i hope all you CC’ers get the “acted on your application” status TOMORROW.

zamela, that would be AWESOME!!!

What a thought!

Another question:
I chose my major to be biophysics–I sort of regret that now. Physics applications in biology, I believe, are very limited to research. Although I like physics, what I want to pursue is life sciences not in a purely theory based approach.
I want to change it to regular biology, do you think that would be possible, maybe during orientation if I get accepted as biophysics?
Does USC admissions look at alternative majors, or only primary? UCLA did not look at my alternative major, and therefore rejected me solely based on my prereqs (what a bummer). I hope this does not happen for USC.

hey guys, how to check OASIS? What is it?

omg, someone heard from marshall :(… i’m soooooo nervous!!! When is it gonna be me?

https://camel2.usc.edu/ESD/IOL/login.aspx

https://camel.usc.edu/OASIS/Login.aspx?msg=timeout

OASIS is where we check our status updates for our applications, financial aid, and other things. make an account and the password is your birthday (MMDDYY).

alarasus - yea from what i hear, there shouldnt be any problem changing from biophysics to biology
im sure they wont even care a little
just like talk to you counselor if youre admitted and then theyll most likely fix it up for you
either way, its not like youll give up usc if you cant change it, so it doesnt really make that big a diff, right ? :P

i first put my major as chem, but then changed it to bio
i just called them… however, id not advise you to do that as it is very late… i called them like a few days after i submitted my app… or maybe it was even the same day… anyway, it was a while ago :)

as for isra - congratz! im pretty sure thats an acceptance, i doubt there is any way USC would be rejecting people this early, because theyll need to go through all applications thoroughly before deciding who to reject, unless they have like 2.0 GPA, no EC’s, been to jail, got caught cheating, expelled, and wrote essays full of vulgarities

what im saying, is that youd need to be an EXTREME fail applicant to get a rejection this early, which you obviously arent with a 3.8 from a CCC

although im not 100% sure, im at least 99% sure, i mean its only logical… they cant decide if youre worse than everyone else until theyve looked through all of them, but they can decide if they want you in without consulting the rest, because they know that ALL of them wont be better than yours

anyone agree?
:P

Gooood morning everyone. I just checked my USC status- it’s the same. But, hopefully later in the day some more of us will have an “acted upon” status update!

Good morning… or, afternoon here! I’m hoping the same thing, Captain. Or a surprise in the mail. Sunday’s over and the post is back!

@MohamedAlloo and USCplease777, you guys go to UCR? I do too, what major are you guys in? are you a freshman transferring?

Yea klim, I’m a freshman at UCR =) you? I applied as a comm major for Annenberg. What about you?

hah, i meant what major are you in here at riverside? i applied for marshall… meaning i’m in business here. i am a freshman as well. do you live on campus or no? how’s it lookin for you at riverside so far?

Okay, so I have been a lurker on this website for a couple of months. I thought, I would give you guys an update my status. I applied to USC as a junior transfer from Moorpark College. I got denied from UCLA, but then again I did not fulfill any of the prereqs. But today, I got an email from USC requesting my grades upon completion of the semester. I hope this is a good sign…

waitingonSC-That’s a great sign, based on past SGR. What are your stats? I wish I would get a SGR, or at least a status update in the near future.

However, I keep getting letters from Admissions/Fin. Aid stating that I am missing documents. I keep having to call them to clear this up and they tell me “no, just ignore the letters because we have everything already.” Kinda concerns me that my tax documents are just floating around the campus somewhere! I mean, it’s not like the docs have any personal info on them! Has this happened t anyone else?

Stop sending me letters from admissions cuz everytime I get one I think it’s a rejection letter (small envelope
) and I nearly throw up!

waiting on SC, you got an SGR! congrats! Hopefully you’ll amaze them with your grades, good luck!

klim -

i’m also a business major right now but i’m definitely looking to get out of it, hopefully at usc =) i live off campus so i’ve been literally detached from all of ucr campus life hahaha i’m just waiting to be a college i really genuinely want to be at. you?? what are your stats if you don’t mind me asking?

waitingonSC - Sounds like you might have a SGR (Spring Grade Request) coming your way. Hopefully you fulfilled your prereqs for USC and have been on a good GPA basis.

waitingonSC: what year are you applying as and do you know the status of your application?? (like on OASIS or the online application?? if it says…“we have requested your spring grades…” or something? :)

if you’re worried that it isn’t a good sign, don’t be. it usually just serves to substantiate your application if you didn’t have that many units at the time you applied or if you’re currently taking pre-reqs to your desired major and they want to see how you do. so hopefully you’re doing well and then you’ll get in.

is USC your first choice??

zamela,

did your status change from

“we are reviewing your application…” to “the committee has acted upon…” or was there a between one that said “your application is currently under review…” (or something similar)??

TTYLA - hahah, I felt the same way when they sent me letters saying I was missing my supplemental material. But when I called, they told me to just ignore it because everything was received by them on time and nothing has changed.
