alarasus- I think the acceptance rates for transfers range from 25-30%? Not sure about UCLA tho

RadRedhead- I get that totally. I’m at a really good 4-year school too & I am working so hard just to get my 3.5! (which might not even happen… it might end up being 3.43 or something) so I just REALLY hope USC takes into account the kinds of GPAs given out from my school u kno?

I completely understand RadRedhead because I go to a 4 year and my regional counselor said that a 3.9 at a CC would outweigh a 3.8 from a 4 year. I was really upset about the fact but after some rationalization, I kind of understand the rationale. For those of whom are attending a 4 year institution are conceptually already receiving a “prime” education. Although it seems unfair on an individual level, for the greater purpose of increasing educational opportunities and educating the greater population, giving CCers precedence makes sense.

yeah well the other parts on my app are pretty competitive with others and if you look at the transfer stats thread for last year some got in with a 3.1/3.3ish…
i remember seeing somewhere on here someone even got in with like a freakin 2.89…idk he must’ve had a good excuse for having such a ****ty gpa…perhaps he was out of school for a while after breaking his leg, trying to save terminally ill children from a burning building in darfur…

it took like 5 minutes to read the last 5 pages that i missed, but i love you guys. hahaha the stuff we talk about on this thread has kept me entertained since like july. :D

it’s really cool that usc truly does take EVERYTHING into consideration. i know a lot of other colleges say the same thing but i highly doubt it.

i’d imagine the drinking binge if we got rejected. unless of course you mean some partying. because i make some excellent drinks as a summer bartender :D

radredhead… it depends on which counselor you talk to… i was told that they put your gpa in the context of your university and what not… and so with me taking ‘rigorous’ engineering courses in an esteemed program definitely helps

i would like to add that i also have red hair… which makes us awesome
