Yeah having a backup is good and i only applied to USC so if i dont get in i am going back to my university. I would also like to apply to UC Berkley but i heard you can not apply there until after two years so if i dont get into USC thats my plan. Well i think we do have good states but with whats been going on with some of the transfers on here i think grades are not always as important as we thought so at this point i dont know what to think.

MY PACKAGE CAME IN TODAY!!! Fall 2009 MARSHAL!!!

congratz will

congrats will and peppa

@peppa, i have an EFC of 0 and am praying i get a generous package or else i’m screwed

can anyone with an EFC of 0 or near 0 tell us what kind of package they got from USC? if you dont mind that is it will just make me feel more comfortable… i need to sign up for orientation and live 3000 miles away, idk if its worth reserving my spot and buying a plane ticket, if i’m gonna end up taking out a crap load of loans :(

Zircushio- i am also going to USC with an EFC of 0, but i didnt get my award yet and it pretty much decides if im definitly going. Im curious as too were you live cause i live in New York(3,000) miles away and transferring from the University at albany.

Thats sux for me then. My EFC is like 5780 or something. I’m 27 with a wife and two kids. I’m unemployed but she makes like 50k. Thats not good for a family of 4 in Irvine, CA.

err my commitment deadline changed from “8/15 or within two weeks of receiving…” to “5/2 or within two weeks of receiving…” My decision was made on 6/4 and still haven’t received my packet…what does that mean? Am i definitely fall?

@azazi, ahh new york? i’m from jersey pleasure to see another east coaster who got accepted! haha

anyone with a low EFC get a financial package yet? if so can you throw some numbers our way? (if you dont mind that is )

someone got one zirc… they said they mostly got grants/awards =D

peppamintt…i hope that is the case with ours… i will cry if USC has the generosity to issue 45k+ in grants/awards to me… thats such an honor coming from one of the best schools in the world. i can only hope and wait peppa :D

zircushio, would you mind posting what your enrollment deadline was if it wasn’t 8/15?

i’m on that wait with u zirc! =D

Augh no one got back to me today about starting in the spring instead of fall!
This sucks!

what was your question rad?

To see if I can start in spring '10 instead of fall '09.
I have a lot of nonrefundable money deposited at my current university, and it would suck to lose it all.

I don’t see why it’d be a problem. Did you try calling the head of your department?

Most majors in SCA can’t start in the spring.
It says nothing on the website about Critical Studies undergraduates not being able to start in the spring. However, it specifically says Graduate students can’t start then. . .
I called the department and no one could help me! Then I e-mailed the head of the department, and she was supposedly in the office and able to reply, but she never did.
Guess I’ll wait until Monday :C

Good luck! I’m actually trying to switch over to the Fall semester. I really have no intention of being out of school for four months. I’ll have all my units completed by the summer.

I just finished my freshman year at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. I got a cumulative 3.0 but that is the Wisconsin GPA, which they calculate in a very different way. Some classes you need a 95% to get an A and instead of giving an A- or B+ worth 3.7 or 3.3 points, you get an AB which is 3.5 points. The same goes for B, C ect… So a 3.0 at Wisconsin is pretty much like a 3.3 at another school based strictly on my percentages i received in my classes.

grind-
how do you plan on trying to switch?
