No, late july is when SGR people get their rejections. I believe mine was around july 24th or so last year.

Admitted SGR students have heard as early as early- to mid-June. It depends on when you get the SGR and when your Spring semester ends.

I think there gets to be an overflow of SGR’s in early to mid june. Those who turn them in earlier are likely to hear earlier…at least that was my observation last year. There seemed to be acceptances and rejections within a two week span in late july.

lets just pray we dont get an SGR. and that its a straight admittance, we all worked hard for this moment :)

lol i WANT an SGR so i can boost my chances!

hmm

straight admittance… or a SGR…

shoo you make it hard to choose… lol :D

why would you want a SGR?

Wow, I was really secure about my application but now that I am thinking about possibly getting an SGR, that I haven’t taken a language yet, AND that I have a W (in a class that I forgot I fulfilled in H.S… I know.) I am totally worried about USC’s decision! Just have to throw it off. What is done is done.

Oh, I am guessing Shoo wants an SGR because he is having a great semester, that will cause his GPA to significantly rise above what it currently is, making him more competitive. But, that is what I think.

Hey everyone,

I had the interview with Thornton (Music Industry Major) and it went quite well. They finished their decisions in April last year, so a lot of students found out in May, so I’m anxious for that. Anyways.

In regards to SGRs…I received one last year in May but didn’t finish my semester until June 12th. I faxed my SGR and one day later a decision was made. I think if you fax it directly to your admission counselor you’ll get a quick response. But thats just my experience!

Wow. That is crazy. Congratulations on the interview! That is awesome that it went well.

hey guys, been reading through pages that ive missed, you spammers…

anyway, to bring up the whole language thing again!
ok so, i havent taken any languages in college, but im fluent in both swedish and hindi(my parents are from india, im born and raised in sweden) im pretty sure i included that in my app, as well as being semi good at norwegian, and know basic spanish and german
i just hope they dont get all ****y about me not taking language in college… if they do, then they are seriously idiots
i wanna go into neuroscience f.fs :P

to whoever asked me-

i want an SGR for a few reasons:

1) i will have over 30 units @ the end of the semester so therefore my HS grades wont be looked at (thank god)

2) my semester is going well so i want a chance to boost my GPA

make sense?

obviously if i had to choose between an SGR and a straight acceptance i would choose the latter… DUH! lol

hehe yea ofc shoo, that makes sense
obviously haha anyone would choose straight acc, unless they really wanna be braggers

btw, just saw the movie ‘Yes Man’ with jim carrey, soooo frickin funny omg
haha i laughed so hard
if u havent see it, go see it! :D:D

I WILL SAVE THIS THREAD!!!

yeah I want a SGR
cause I think im more likely to get accepted that way

SGR> rejection

When do they usually send out a letter asking for a SGR?

Late May -ish?

yeah but by sure June 1st

and I just learned who got accepted and rejected from my old high school and it scares me knowing that some of these kids who got rejected are amazing students, ugh
even though freshmen and transfers are different, i feel like im losing hope :/

Floatopia at UCSB anyone?
