USC 2010 Transfer Thread

@holyschmidt You should have done it already because later on it’s going to be very stressful because you won’t know when your documents will arrive.

When did you guys send in your tax forms?

i’m trying to focus anyway, but calc 2 is crrrrrazy. hopefully i’ll be able to keep my GPA above 3.6

@fuji I’m talking cal 2 as well. I have one chapter left (series and sequences) and it’ll be over. What I’m scared about is my 9 week english course that i barely started. Theres work due everyday which is something that I’m not used to. Hopefully I can hold on till the end without dropping the ball.

i guess we both agree that school work sucks. i talked to my professor today, and i could still get an A but that might be unlikely. sometimes i wish i took calculus at the local community college. at least they get to use calculators

@fuji - I’m taking calc at a cc this semester and it is by no means easy. We are expected to have memorized all formulas/trig identities from previous work and can’t use calculators on exams either. Guess it just depends on the professor you take it with?

Depends what cc you go to cause where i go we don’t use calculators.

oh most definitely depends on the professor. the other professor at my state university doesn’t go over hyperbolic functions. LUCKY

my calc class you can only use a basic numbers only calculator(supplied to you because of the “rarity” of them)

Good news is that we have one more month until decisions come in. Think Positive!

Oh man. It’s only four more weeks but it feels like four more months hahahahaha

Hopefully it’s only one month, but last year some people didn’t hear back until June 1st.

I read through the threads last year and it seems transfers heard around May 13th at the absolute earliest.

Not to be Debbie Downer, but last year I got an SGR and didn’t hear back until mid-July.

Have any of you guys finished any courses yet for the spring term? I just finished a course last week and I was wondering if it would be to my advantage if I submitted the final grade to USC. Hmm…what do you guys think? I tried calling them earlier today, but the counselors were busy and kept me on hold for too long.

I think ONE person heard in the beginning of May but like Kulakai said, most didn’t hear until mid-May. It’s the same with the rest of my schools. All of my decisions should be coming around May 15th. I vote for skipping the next 6 weeks and making it May 15th today!

@ budlightyear

I finished my classes a week ago. I’m sending in my final grades for the quarter.

i’m expecting a spring grade request since i’m applying to attend as a sophomore. one month just turned into 2 or 3…

Yeah I e-mailed my counselor from usc about hearing back after June first and this was the response i got…

Hello [Tbibbs],

"Your application will be reviewed several times by the Office of Admission and Marshall School of Business. For students taking required business courses in the spring and/or summer, admission decisions are often delayed until we receive confirmation that those courses are complete. Bear in my mind majority of our students (applying to any major) receive their admission decision around June 1st.

Hope this helps!"

So even if you get a 4.0 spring semester and you send that as your SGR, there’s still a possibility of being rejected?
