It depends on a lot - essays, and unit counts…etc.

For me, I had 4.0 winter and spring semesters, but I only had completed 25 units so they looked at my high school grades. I didn’t take the SATs, left after 10th grade, etc… so I think that’s what killed me in the end.

Has anyone heard of USC admitting someone with a stipulation that they maintain a certain gpa or get a “B” or something in the required business course they are currently taking in the case of Marshall? Or is an SGR pretty much standard if you are taking a pre-req regardless of you having a high gpa and 60+ credits.

hey guys this is random butttt i was reading last years thread and the first person to get in was acted upon on april 22 and she received her acceptance letter on the 24th!

do you think we’ll get early decisions like that this year??

Hey guys, I’m brand new to the board, and created this account for this…I just received an email saying that I have been accepted into Marshall. Does anyone know if this is legit? I haven’t heard of an acceptance for transfers this early. Also, is it common to receive an email before the official site says my application is still being reviewed and prior to a letter in the mail?

Definitely fake. I am pretty sure USC releases all decisions through the mail. Your status update will say your decision has been sent out. Anyways, take a screenshot, just for kicks.

Don’t know how to post a screenshot on this site, so here it is the letter copy and pasted:

Dear Niraj Lal,

Congratulations on your acceptance to the Marshall School of Business at USC.

Sincerely,

Robert G. Townsend, Ph.D
Director of Admissions
Marshall School of Business

In the case that this is a fake, I just don’t understand who would do this (and how they have access to applicant email information). Also, I’m sure if it is a fake, there are a lot of other people who received the same email

lalni89: I doubt it’s a fake, though it is rather hard to believe that you’ve already received a decision (and by email, nonetheless). Perhaps you were entered into their freshmen databases by mistake?

I can’t find any Robert G. Townsend in the list of Marshall faculty members. The Director of Undergraduate Admission for Marshall is Tiffiani Frye. Idk, congrats if you were accepted though, that must be a transfer record!
