USC 2010 Transfer Thread

@MBTown - April 1st usually the first day transfers see status updates so if you don’t get one then don’t assume anything. It just means April 1st has passed and they are starting to get the transfer apps in order to review.

Sounds good!!!

status change the the “we are reviewing…sometimes we require one.” im applying from the U of A (freshy applying as a soph) to annenberg for Public Relations. 16 units done, 16 in progress.

Is this where you guys are reviewing your status changes? My oasis one disappeared but when it was up there I had the “we have received and are currently reviewing” status, but now mine’s just this. It’s really vague and I’m pretty sure it’s been up there since I applied in late November. Hmph. Don’t judge the links in my bookmark bar.

http://i34.■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■/albums/d134/alexlaundry/Screenshot2010-04-01at94519PM.png

@daisy
I think that one and USC connect are the only ones that are showing application status updates.

Don’t tell me you read PEREZ?!?!? Lol just kidding.

@daisydaisy yep that’s where I check for any status updates. Hmmm I’ve only seen that status on the immediate days after I submitted my application. Probably it’s an error on their part :confused: I’d call the Admissions Office to check it out.

To everyone concerned about financial aid:

I spoke to someone at the Fin Aid office; they basically told me that they look more at income instead of your assets; obviously, if you have a few hundred thousand in equity that you put down on the CSS, and your income is ABSOLUTELY NOWHERE near that, then they just go by doubling your income.

Wow, God bless this person for clearing all of this up for me.

I also asked about what will happen if you stay another semester (5th year, an extra semester to finish up your studies) and this person said that its a normal, routine thing. Nothing big.

So all you Leventhal/Marshall applicants should have nothing to worry about!

i really hope transferring from a 4-year will hurt me. i would have attended my local community college, but my father passed away during my senior year and my scholarship allowed me to attend the state university, which is only 20 minutes away from my house. so i decided to just go to the state university and transfer out :/

@daisy

AP.net? What’s your username??

fujiwarae86: It shouldn’t. I’m from a four-year as well and an admissions counselor informed me that, because they are private, they are able to take no priority over any type of school; rather, each student is basically an equal.

Anybody’s status has been updated?

MEDICINE (KECK)

Hey guys, How do I find out of the major/s I applied for have pre-reqs or not?

I applied for Biology with my 2nd choice being Health Promotion and DIsease Prevention

I don’t know about y’all but at this point and time I’m doing my best not to freak out that my status hasn’t budged since March. AHH.

This waiting is killing me. It’s honestly making me second guess my chances.

@deborahmei - Mine hasn’t changed since I submitted my application :slight_smile: Don’t worry as the rest of us on here are in the same exact boat with the same level of anxiety.

@nabilesmail - Because I’m a nice guy and Budlightyear typed out a more thorough response, see his post below mine! ;)

@ nabilesmail - here is a link to the USC transfer brochure, it will tell you the pre-reqs required for each major; you’ll then need to compare the pre-reqs with the articulation agreement between USC and your college(s) to see course-to-course equivalencies and/or non-equivalent transferable courses. If there is a pre-req course that isn’t offered at your current college(s), you may need to contact USC for further information. Good Luck!

damnit, i type too slow.

how important is the diversity requirement for transferring? Im a mechanical engineering major and almost all of my classes are technical classes. I recently took a gander at my TPG and theres a diversity requirement i think i failed to address.

finallyyyyyy a status updateeeeeee!
