USC 2010 Transfer Thread

@USC10 - Lucky!!! I hope we all get that update within the next few days :)

from reading last years thread … the first person to get accepted got this update on the 15th and another on the 22nd and accepance on the 24th !! so there is nothing to worry about…they are going in random order and this status only means that theyre checking to see if all of your materials are in
THINK POSITIVE! :)

^last year people got accepted as early as april 24th?

Status update! Whooooooooo!

Undergraduate Application (Part II, Fall 2010)
We are reviewing your application. Sometimes we require additional information, so be sure to respond to any requests promptly. Transfer applicants are notified of their admission, or of a request for more information by June 1.

I wonder if the updates are at all correlated with our locations. I know that they have specific admissions officers for different regions. Maybe it has something to do with who our reps are? I haven’t gotten one yet. I’m not worried about it too much. Though I can’t help but worry that it means I’ll get a later admissions decision.

@ihateceltics- ya i dono if u read it but it was zamela from last years thread thats when she got her package

I applied to Roski and I got this in my email this morning:
“Thank you again for your transfer application to USC Roski School of Fine Arts. Now that all the freshmen application portfolios have been reviewed, it is time for the faculty to turn their attention to the transfer applications. They will begin to review portfolios next week. This may take some time, so please do not expect to hear a decision from us until May or so, unless we discover missing materials from your file. Then we will contact you immediately via email.”

And I was stressing about SGR because I’m a freshman applying for my sophomore year, and if I don’t get into SC I’m spending another year at my JC, and the registration deadline at my JC is June 22th. So I emailed SC asking when to expect a reply if you get an SGR, and I got this in my email this morning:
“We expect to reply in early July.”

So I’m getting nervous. Ugh. I guess I’ll have to register at my JC and just drop all my classes if I get into SC.

april 24! that’s my birthday! that would be so cool if I got a package that day and still no status update but im hoping it is because of my age

Where are you guys seeing that update? Once you login to the undergraduate app. page?

@mxbile131- yup. log in, go to admissions, undergraduate app., scroll down.

SFwarrior25: I had my current schedule of classes picked out by the Chem advisor frm USC and it’s nothing but science classes-no diversity req courses- so I guess it doesn’t really matter.

Yeah, my status hasn’t changed at all since Feb. :frowning: Anyone here frm Texas and had their status changed?

my status changed! is that a good thing?

It looks like people started hearing back from USC in the last week of April last year. Hopefully that is true for all of us and we can hear back by the end of the month!

Would you guys happen to know if the financial aid department of USC is open on Saturday mornings? I need to follow up a lot of things regards my financial aid documents with them. I already submitted my parents’ income tax return, my non-filing statement, citizen/eligible non citizen verification form a couple of weeks back and yet, they sent me the exact same email they sent me weeks ago about wanting those documents. Plus, until now my CSS profile wont appear on the “received” part of my document management system. What gives???

Their system is sooooooo messed up!

@SFwarrior25
I discussed the diversity req with my advisor over email she said not to worry about it and just to do it if you get to SC. I think you’re fine without it (I didn’t fulfill it either.)

Yeah, I too noticed that people heard back at the end of April last year. Looks like most heard back in the middle of and later in May, though. Is it the same every year? Any chance they are ahead of schedule this year and we hear back early?

I can always be optimistic…

I just wanna know nowwwwwww so I can plan my crappy life if I don’t get in. All my eggs are in the USC basket. I haven’t applied anywhere else.

@daisydaisy: Saaame :</p>

All my eggs are in the same (easter) basket too. I don’t want to go to Berkeley and UPenn is way too far from home for me. :)

Ditto on the eggs in the basket thing.

USC or bust! And I’m pretty sure I won’t get any film internships in North Carolina, so I really hope I get accepted and expedite my journy to LA by 2 years!
