Sucks for me since I actually am trying to transfer from NYU. :P

But anyway, I’m definitely on that USC or bust train too. :)

happydk,

I saw that you commented on your school being indifferent to education. Do you go to the University of Houston? I am an applicant to SC as well, and im attending Texas State and i would love to argue how it might be as worse here!ha.

I just got the status update of “We are reviewing …” on a Sunday, I had checked late Friday night and I still had the old one. Maybe they’re working on the weekends!

usc or bust for me too =/ currently a freshmen at csu-pomona

Nice, Laguna. I just checked mine and it’s still the same. I’m hoping I get something this week…just some sort of acknowledgement would be nice, lol. I had to re-submit my supplemental documents via e-mail because they never got the ones I mailed in. And now my status has been the same since as far back as I can remember. I’m guessing I’ll see an update this week–it’s exciting to know they’re looking at transfer applications on weekends, even though I guess maybe it could just takes a day or two to update?

Hey mreddiee I go to CSU Pomona to man (I’m a freshman too hahaha)!!! And DreamingUSC too is also from CSU Pomona
What major are you trying to transfer into dude? And do you live in the dorms btw? I’m in Aliso lolol

oh nice! glad to know that there are other people in a similar situation as me
. im trying to get into marshall but my 2nd choice is econ (my backup). i commute since i live near pasadena area (kinda regret it now though). what about you?

Marshall was my first choice and Econ was my second. I almost wish I had Econ as my first choice because I know I will get a Spring Grade Request for Marshall and I am sick of waiting!

I also wrote on my application that just getting into USC is my main goal, so if I am denied for both Econ and Marshall, then maybe they will let me in as undecided (USC Official said I could do this).

@Lustrous - We have identical majors; although I wish I applied for Accounting instead of Business Administration.

You’re in a better position than I am though since I’m not able to go undecided; I wish you the best!

since my school (csu pomona) runs on a quarter system, should i send in my winter grades asap?

mreddiee - I would highly recommend you do that, and if you have the time, hand-carry it to them.

how come hand-carry? why not priority mail?

@sbrry7

I have not gotten any information from LMU. Also I applied the night of the deadline and it changed from 3/15/10 as my date to 3/16/10, so I need to call and ask if it was accepted. Did you hear anything? I still do not know if I would attend LMU, but it all depends. I live in CA, but go to school out of state, so living in CA might be enough for me to transfer.

@Budlightyear You cannot apply to the Leventhal School of Accounting as a transfer student, you have to apply through BusAdmin and then transfer once you get there (if you get at least a B in their acct course), so don’t worry you didn’t miss out on anything!

@mreddiee haha yeah I’m applying as a sociology major and my second choice major is EALC with concentration in Korean.
Man, we just need to get through one more quarter until our year at Pomona is finally over hahaha. Oh yeah, btw I sent in my Winter Quarter transcript but I did not hand-carry it in. I have no car -_- hahaha. So how are your classes for spring quarter so far?

@Everyone Does anyone know the layout of a recommendation letter that a Professor is supposed to follow? Since there are no forms to give to my professor, I’m wondering how I’m supposed to include my USC ID on the letter. Should I just write it down on the envelope and give it to him, or should I just tell him to type it into his letter of rec? And also, am I supposed to just tell my professor to write a letter of recommendation, or do I also tell him some specific topics to write about me?

@foodmunkee i know seriously… its going by so slow, mostly because of waiting for that package in the mail. i still check my mail/status on usc connect like every other day even though i know there’s still roughly a month left
im only taking 12 units this qtr (4 in the summer, 16 in fall/winter) so its not too bad. i was trying to get chinese, japanese, or korean this quarter but stupid budget cuts… =/ how about you?

foodmunkee: It all depends on your preferences, as there is no official way. You can simply write the ID on the top of the recommendation if you’d like. In regards to your second question, I’d printed out a copy of the freshmen form so as to provide my teacher examples of important points to make. Ultimately, I’d get that recommendation in as fast as possible, as there’s a decent chance they’re already reviewing applications.

@LagunaSC - Thank you for clarifying that for me. I was concerned that I may have missed something during the application process because I did not select pre-accoutning under concentration (or something like that).

@mreddiee - I suggested hand-carry because it’s really the only guarantee that they’ll receive it. haha. You get a receipt with their signature. I guess it gives me a little bit of assurance, I was hoping that it would probably do the same for you.

hellooo how’s everyone doing? are you guys going to beat the 2009 transfer thread? :)

@budlightyear - if you go through the documents section of your usc connect you can print pages out and give them to your professor, then you professor uses those pages to fax your recomendation, you will recieve an email from usc once it is sent through and put with your application - also there are detailed instructions on the site – I do not know if this is what you were asking but I hope this info. helps
