is that a challenge Zamela? haha I have spent countless hours going through last years! Glad you are back! how are things at usc?

We intend on eventually kicking the 09 thread’s ass. :)

Hey when you guys check your status of your application are you guys referring to the one where you go to usc connect then?

So now that the decision date is starting to wind down I am getting a bit nervous. Maybe it was because of being on Spring Break that I was thinking about it constantly, but **** I just want to know already hahaha.

Just a quick question–does anyone know what EC’s look good? I have quite a few, but most are in sports. Here are mine and if someone could please tell me if I am “well-rounded” because of my ec’s, I would appreciate it(PLEASE BE HONEST)!!

@socal The application status is the one from USC Connect after you click on Undergraduate Application(I believe).

Hey everyone,

Decision time is just around the corner and I’m getting pretty antsy. I was wondering if you guys could give me some feedback.

Here’s my info:
NYU: Media, Culture, and Communication major.
Applying to Annenberg (Communications)
Sophomore transfer
16 units completed, 16 units in progress
College GPA: 3.7 (straight A-'s)
HS GPA: 3.7 W
SAT: 1980/2030 Super Score
ECs: Various HS clubs, College clubs having to do with my major, Internships sophomore (Immigration Law Office) and junior year (Lincoln Financial Group) in HS, Second semester freshman internship in NYC (Citi-Habitats, real estate firm).
Essay: Decent, at best. I wrote about my experience in NYC and how it helped me grow academically and personally. I basically said that I wanted to be in a more enriching environment (like USC’s) where people valued loyalty and camaraderie as opposed to trampling over people to get what they want in life, emphasizing “family” values, and the traditional campus environment, etc.

Any input would be appreciated. I’m getting preetttyyyy antsy (checking this thread every hour). I know there’s nothing I can do about my application now, but if possible, I’d really like to mentally prepare myself for a rejection if it’s “probably” coming.

@frantastic

You sure have great potential; NYU is a fantastic school and your success there shows that you could succeed at USC academically. Also your 32 units completed by the end of the year would mean they would look at your NYU over your high school records, anyways. Your EC’s also seem very good, as I hear that USC does like students who do more then stare at books all day because it translates into future success. Overall I would say you have a high chance of getting in and I wish you the best of luck!

Hi everyone,

I thought some of you might be interested in checking this out. It’s a daily log about the crimes or incidents that occur on or adjacent to USC.

@MBtown

I haven’t heard anything but I was told by the transfer admissions guy that decisions would go out in like 4-5 weeks and you can e-mail him if you “must” know before then. He made it seem like it’s really easy to get in.

I emailed admissions about my status being weird and this is what they said: We have received your application and your file appears to be complete at this time. We will notify you if we require additional information. It is important that you respond quickly to any request we may make.

An admission decision notification, or a request for your spring semester grades, will be mailed by June 1 to all applicants who submit a complete application by the application deadline.

Boooo this doesn’t tell me if my application is being reviewed or not!?!? Blah.

@daisy I would imagine they have quite a few e-mails asking for the same thing right now, so they have designed a very generic e-mail to send out. In other words, copy and paste just makes life simpler :)

the classes are kicking my lazy butt and there’s a huge puddle in my apartment. other than that, i’m having a lot of fun here. good luck everyone!

@zamela thank you so much for the good wishes!

i woke up today to the ringing of my door bell and thoought…“the ■■■?”

since my parents are traveling and all friends and family know of this, i peeked out the window and it was my mailman. DUN DUN DUN…

i start giggling and jump back into my bed thinking what could it be…?? COULD IT BE? ITS TOO EARLY? BUT WHAT IF?

when he leaves i bone out of bed to the front door and open the door and…

its just a package for my dad. ■■■■■■■ could have let me know he was expecting one ._____________________________.x :(

/rant

rhandler33,

Thanks for the positive feedback! It means a lot to me! Haha. I’m getting so antsy I can barely focus on my school work. I just want to know already!

Dainese,

I definitely know what you mean. All throughout senior year I had been attacking my mail man. I can’t wait to do it all over again this year! :D

So I just made the mistake of sending an e-mail from my girlfriends (who is also a transfer applicant) e-mail address instead of mine because it was signed in on my computer to my admissions counselor. Is that a big deal or am I just stressing out over every little thing that has to do with USC?

@rhandler - depends what was in the email haha, but if your name/USC ID is in there then no worries

Mine has been stuck on “We have received and are currently reviewing your application. We recommend you check here occasionally for an update on the status of your application.” gahhhh

@dainese Yes it had my name in there. I feel like an idiot for stressing over something like this haha

hey fellow usc hopefuls!..i just got the status update which more or less reads “we are reviewing your app…we sometimes require more info…etc”…

does anyone know if this necessarily means that i will get an sgr?
