USC 2010 Transfer Thread

no that means you are missing information and look at the list they have

EDIT:
nvm I see the status you have, I have the same
We are reviewing your application. Sometimes we require additional information, so be sure to respond to any requests promptly. Transfer applicants are notified of their admission, or of a request for more information by June 1.

I think it just means to wait, but it will tell you that you have to send in ur SGR if you get it

yeah, i spoke with an admissions counselor recently and she said my app. was already complete…so would the update have mentioned an sgr if it was being requested, or will that just come as a surprise in the mail?

@sbrry7

I hope I am accepted just in case. I need to call and ask if it was submitted before the deadline or not though. It confirmed and then changed the date, but once I call I will let you know. Also tell me if you are accepted or not! =]

gionrio- an SGR status goes:
“We have requested your spring term grades. We mailed you specific instructions on how to submit your grades for expedited processing. We hope to receive the grades before June 30. We expect you will be notified of our final decision by mid-July.”

I see many of you making references to your respective admission counselors. Is there any benefit in contacting that person? What exactly does the admission counselor do?

The only time I contacted mine was to confirm a class I took fulfilled the math requirement.

didnt even know you could get an admissions counselor. haha DOH!

has anyone gotten their admission results already? getting anxious waiting and the status never changes…

^WOW. you waited 16 months to write your first post!

Anyone know when to expect acceptance/rejection letters? I know that acceptance letters started coming in late April - mid June last year.

I got my rejection in early July, after getting an SGR. There were a few people who didn’t hear back (acceptance or rejection) until mid-July.

@housefan - it is unusual for transfer to hear as early as late April. Generally people start to hear in the first few weeks of May.

the first acceptance that WE knew about last year came in around April 24th

@Amorrison

Just out of curiosity…Did you not do well in the spring? Why do you think you got rejected? How were your grades/units last year?

I think it was because I had less than 30 units and my high school record is terrible. I left after my sophomore year, didn’t take the SATs, etc. My college GPA was/is 3.7 cumulative, 3.9 in the units I had taken in Fall/Winter/Spring of 08-09.

Is it a bad thing if your status does not change?

So even with your spring courses, you didn’t exceed the 30 units?

Correct. I work full time so I max out at three classes a semester. I had 27 units at the end of spring.

@tron - I really wouldn’t worry, it is too soon to analyze :).

At the end of Spring, I will have completed 28 semester transferable units; however, I did pass the AP Stats test with a 4.

According to one of USC’s webpage, I believe that I will get 4 units for this; so would it be safe to say that I would then have 32 semester units?

I have the new status yayyy haha :slight_smile: … It made me happy.
