@mxbile131 i’ve had that same status forever too but it’s only the middle of april…

On the “my profile” part of USConnect, did anyone check the “yes” box for SMS updates? I didn’t even see that before but does that mean they’ll text us when our status is updated?

I have 3 C’s (One from a Winter session and two from a Summer session). Other than that, I’ve had A’s and B’s and am a full-time student. Can anyone tell me how my C’s will affect me?

housefan: It really depends. What’s your cumulative GPA? Furthermore, were they classes for your major, or just GE’s?

trojanhopeful1- I’m guessing that’s what they might do! :DDD

“Thank you for submitting your online Part II application. We recommend you check here occasionally for an update on the status of your application.”

that status has been haunting me since forever. does anyone still have this particular status? everyone’s seems to have changed already…

yeah mine says “We have received and are currently reviewing your application. We recommend you check here occasionally for an update on the status of your application.” Have ppl gotten an update since that?

They’re GE’s. My cumulative GPA is 3.3. I’ve done voluntary work involving music and have done an internship. If it helps.

Come on Thornton! Be good to me!

Finally got a status update from Marshall!: “We are reviewing your application. Sometimes we require additional information, so be sure to respond to any requests promptly. Transfer applicants are notified of their admission, or of a request for more information by June 1.”

I can’t necessarily speak for Thorton because I believe their admissions process is somewhat different. Generally, a 3.3 GPA is a bit on the lower side, so having three C’s could hurt slightly (though they are not for your major).

I’ve had “We are reviewing your application. Sometimes we require additional information, so be sure to respond…” for a few days now.
Marshall hopeful here as well

i wonder what everyone wished at 11:11

oh wait all you guys are on the west coast pretty much haha

yesssss finally got the status update for CLAS

Yeah everyone, seriously, they have literally thousands of applications to sort through to make sure everything is there before committee renders a decision. I can’t imagine they have hundreds of people to do this, more like dozens if that.

@housefan someone got into Thornton last year with a 3.1? GPA I believe. I think they care more about your extra curriculars and your music experience than they do with grades. Or so it seems. I know he did an interview too.

Hey there guys,

well first off, Mostly everyone will be having the same status, unless your in Viterbi. So don’t fret! =]

Secondly, Is anyone applying to CLAS for B.A. in Human Performance???

I’m currently a Physical Therapy major at Texas State University, and when I was choosing my primary and secondary majors, I came across this.

Interestingly enough, they just initiated this degree program a few years back, so it’s relatively new. I felt that as difficult as USC admissions is, that it would be wise of me to make that my primary major.

We all know the term “less-impacted” major, and I figure all though I’m in the competitive GPA range(3.7), that this would be my best way in, ofcourse with a great essay and curriculars.

Wanting to know yalls feeback!

-Beau

@thegoldfinch - pretty much covered all categories cept language and science. but im going to finish science in the summer

@Beau – your stats look pretty good especially coming from a 4-year univ. I think as long as you wrote a strong essay you have a pretty good chance- but thats in my opinion, who knows with admission officers what they are truly looking for. but from my perspective you look like a good candidate.

anyways…since we are talking about statuses, mine is still “we have received and are reviewing…” freshman at a community college. 4.0 through 20 units and 18 units in progress. I think they may be waiting for my final pre-requisite grade before they can make my decision…just a guess

BeauSelisker1990: I applied as a Kinesiology major as well, although I would be doing a Bachelor of Science for Pre-Medicine. I definitely believe Kines. to be less competitive at USC than my second choice major, Biology.
