i applied as native american also, although i am only part. were a shoe in

@spada, I agree with Dainese, if you plan on going to Marshall thinking it’s just as easy once you’re in USC, you are completly wrong since the Marshall counselors stressed that it is in a sense even harder to transfer within USC to a school like Marshall since it’s so competitive and you will have to literally apply once more to get in and you will be competing with other students WITHIN USC for a spot in Marshall. You are going to be stuck as an undecided or history major for atleast a semester, assuming you do get into Marshall 2nd semester, therefore you are really risking your time, money, and college career by trying to transfer within USC.

I am not trying to discourage you, but you need to realize that your plan does not work for a school like USC, unlike many colleges, you can’t simply declare and switch majors whenever you please, you have to apply to each “school” within USC and POSSIBLY be accepted if you qualify.

Has USC been anyone else’s dream school since they were little? I mean I have dreamed of attending USC since I was young. Some of the first words to come out of my mouth were Fight On. I grew up watching the likes of Keyshawn Johnson, Sammy Knight, and Kareem Kelly play football. I was recruited to play baseball until I ruined my shoulder. I got to know the campus from my uncle being a professor of mathematics. It is the only university that I walk into and feel truly at home. Attending USC would be more then an honor for me, it would be a dream come true. FIGHT THE **** ON

Just wondering, how late are you all willing to wait for USC decision? If mid-May comes around and you still don’t hear from USC, are any of you going to consider just accepting a UC offer and to get started on housing?

what is “SRG” ?

An “SGR” is a spring grade request. This is where they request your final spring grades before they render a decision on your application meaning you won’t know if your accepted/rejected until mid to late June at the earliest.

@rawfulmao - many of us probably wont find out till june 1st. but then again many of us only applied to USC. ITS USC OR BUST…

@rhandler33- thats awesome. I never knew anything about colleges when i was little even in high school It wasnt till recently started to get into colleges. in hs i didnt even care about school but wow…i was dumb. but now that USC is right at my door step, it blows my mind. its almost naive haha. ill never forget the feeling USC gave me the first time i stepped foot on campus. 1 word to sum it up = MESMERIZED.

I even visited UCLA and although the campus was super nice and the surrounding area was nicer, I still couldnt feel at home at UCLA

rhandler were gonna get in, party it up, study it up, and graduate all together. USC FTW.

I like your style dianese! Once were all excepted we need to meet up and do some serious celebrating!! Fight ON!!

Thanks Kulakai!!!

Anyone know how easy it is to start a club up? I’d like to be able to restart the USC wrestling club and compete at the NCWAs.

My D was accepted as a spring transfer admit to USC in late JULY in 2008, so make what you will of that. It was the only school she applied to, so she completed her fall term at CC (for a total of 3 terms there) & then started USC in Jan 09. It worked out OK for her. Don’t recall us receiving anything before she finally got her acceptance & she figured she would be rejected because she hadn’t heard anything in so long. She did not have access to a computer in July and was not checking the website or on-line at all, so not sure how that changed over the time period.

@ spada100

Affirmative action definitely favors your chances. The holistic process makes it difficult to assume who will be accepted and rejected based on stats alone.

@ happydk

there is no such thing as affirmative action in California.

If I could like rhandler33’s post I would, or give it a thumbs up. We needs some elements of FB on here.

USC<3

@southoctrojan - i think its pretty ez to start a club at any school. just need X amount of members and some paper work/rules etc. but i think they probably already have something that has to do with wrestling

@southoctrojan - i am down to get back on the mat again. i miss it so much

and i second the serious celebrating haha

do whoever said forget school and continue on… I want to make 10x that much thats why! USC is the ticket! @ Slowmotion… can you clarify “part”? I have some cherokee in me but if you were to look at me I look “white”… the Native American is very disseminated.

@Dainese Do you think I should send my W2? I have 90 units completed and finished all prereq courses for history and bus.

A’s in both English clases… A’s in Stats and Calc

Oh… another question, how do you look at retaking classes… for example I had an F in calculus due to a family emergency and then I retook it for an A. Does that A carry the same weight? I feel like my grades are just shat…

General question: Considering the economy and everything… is the pool of applicants better than last year?

yes you should. your chances for history are pretty good, but for marshall i dunno. with 90 units probably but thats still tough for me to chance, maybe someone else in marshall can give some feedback.

from what i hear USC doesnt care if u retake classes, so even if u do retake it, they still look a the F. :(

@rhandler- I remember watching Keyshawn as well. At the time I wasn’t interested in the school, but he was amazing to watch at that level. I saw a video of the USC spring game earlier. Apparently they have a freshman back who is supposed to be really talented, and scored on a nasty 50-yard TD run. I want to go to USC football games :)

SGR question-

I think someone asked this but I couldn’t find a response. Does anyone know your chances of getting in if you receive an SGR? If you complete your courses and get mostly A’s w/ maybe 1 B, is there still a chance you get rejected? That would be terrible to get an SGR, have a perfect semester, and still not get in!
