USC 2010 Transfer Thread

wghiller - It varies on a case by case basis. You’d have to dig through all the old transfer threads to get a good idea if there is a pattern but I don’t think there is. An SGR just means you’re currently taking a pre-req or have a low amount of credits and they want to see that you maintained the gpa till the end of the semester.

I’ve had the same question. When thinking about it logically, I don’t see how USC could offer you a Spring grade request, and then deny you after seeing you have perfect grades during Spring. If that were the case, what would be the point of giving out a SGR in the first place? The worst I could see them doing is giving you admission for Spring 2011 if you pull of a 4.0.

anyone know if you get rejected if you can appeal it as a transfer?

Yeah, Baxter…that’s right. It’s tough to compare him to Reggie Bush this early–some people tried doing that with McKnight and it didn’t work out–but I’ve heard those comparisons as well, and he definitely looks promising.

I agree on the SGR. It seems like good grades should pretty much mean admittance. Like Spin just said, if they weren’t going to take you regardless of grades, then they would probably reject you already.

I read in last year’s thread that transfers cannot appeal. I’m not sure if this is fact though.

if i end up getting into USC and we dont win football games ESPECIALLY AGAINST UCLA, i will probably feel like **** for going to USC. i know USC isnt all about foot ball but cmon. I WANT TO WIN.

@Dainese-- Haha. The only thing worse would be if we got in, and then the investigations turned out to make USC ineligible to compete in the BCS.

Actually the only thing worse would be if we didn’t get in at all. But other than that…

I absolutely despise the BCS. I hope they were watching the NCAA tournament this year and saw how incredible it was. A team like Buter would be playing in the College Confidential Outback Bowl if basketball used a BCS-like system.

I think it says a lot that Pete Carroll used to say he wanted a playoff. The BCS probably benefits USC more than most teams, and he still thought it was crap.

Anyone receive any more updates/news from USC? I know those 2-3 people got accepted, anything since then?

@happydk- yea I know. Just an FYI, thats all.

@Dainese- yea thats what I figured. Actually, no they dont. They used to a few years ago, but currently they only have Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and boxing clubs.

@fujiwarae86- Yea i know the feeling. Its why I coach now and work out with the club team at my CC cuz they dont have a CACC team.

@Dainese STOP PROCRASTINATING lolol actually i should be telling my self that. I was supposed to only take a 10 minute nap, but instead it turned into a 5 hr sleeping journey and I just woke up lolol.
