USC 2010 Transfer Thread

it seems like everyone who has an updated status is a junior(or close to it). are there any exceptions so far?

Im a freshman. :D

transferring in a freshmen?

@fuji…you can’t transfer in as a freshman…then you would be in high school

i meant the class standing you would be next fall

I’ll be transferring in as a sophomore hahahaha

woooooo same here

*high five!!! w00t hahaha What major are you applying for?

1.computer science 2. sociology
I put in pre-law emphasis, but i’ll probably get out of that

nice nice when did you get your status update?

I haven’t :(

It’s ok dude i’m sure you’ll be getting one soon. I think that the status that everyone’s been receiving only means USC has gone over people’s applications to see if everything is there and nothing is missing, since the other status states that “your application is being reviewed by the committee” unlike the one that everyone is beginning to get which states that “we are reviewing your application”. I believe that once our applications begin to be really reviewed, we will be receiving “your application is being reviewed by the committee” status. So no worries man ;)

probably been said about 100+times now but…

this wait sucks. =/

two (or three) more weeks to go till people start receiving packages…

I swear, I log into the USConnect website more than Facebook these days.

@rhandler33- I wrestled at my high school all 4 years and wrestled at Cuesta College for a year. I coach at a local private high school right now and train with the saddleback wresetling club when I have time.

Spada100… Apparently USC looks mainly at your USC GPA (the GPA you got during your classes at USC) for transferring to Marshall…

Check this page…

[USC Marshall Undergraduate Program Admissions Internal Major Applicant](http://www.marshall.usc.edu/undergradprogram/admissions/admissions-internal-major-applicant.htm)

Scroll through the application to get a taste of what it asks for, and notice the internal transfer stats on the bottom.

I don’t see why a person couldn’t get in as an internal major transfer if they get a 4.0 at USC… and of course have their pre-reqs completed… I’m hoping to do the same myself, actually, lol…

Good luck!!!

@archieg- While its true that its possible to do that, Im pretty sure the easier and quicker route would be to just transfer externally into Marshall. USC is a not the same as a CC. its a lot harder so if you can afford to get the grades now or make a compelling reason as to why you should be let into marshall, I would advise that.

When I went to a transfer thing a while back and if I remember correctly, they made it pretty clear that people who transfer into the school (for lets say CLAS), will not get be able to transfer to marshall.

They may have been just trying to scare us off from trying to take that route, I dunno.

But I personally don’t think its fair if they let in someone to CLAS who didnt work that hard and got a mediocre GPA, and then let them into marshall a semester later cuz they busted their butts for 4 months. I dont feel thats fair to the people like myself, who’ve spent the past 2 years (or more) working their hardest to get into Marshall directly.

@SouthOCtrojan I would be so down to help you start up a club. I miss it so much…not so much the weight cutting, but god it feels amazing to have your hand raised.

I noticed there is a usc club sport wrestling page but it doesn’t look like it’s been updated since 2005 :)
