So USC mainly looks at the grades in your transferable courses?

@rhandler33- sick. should be legit if theres any decent talent at USC, and im sure there is. NCWAs have state and national tournies and everything too. lol, I know what you mean. I would cut 15 lbs. in like 1-2 days at cuesta. If only USC had a team, thatd be the dream. I’d cut 20 pounds with a smile on my face.

@Kulakai The club team has been dead for a couple years.

@southoctrojan Yeah, seriously…but with the Freebirds they’re building now IDK how I could resist eating hahaha

Who here wrestled and what school and weights?

I wrestled at Calabasas HS at 119 for three years and 130 my senior year. Set almost every school record other then ones set by my buddy who wrestles at Stanford. I wrestled 133 @ Moorpark for a little until the team was cut due to funding.

@kulakai- Yea I saw that site too, I also know a guy who practiced with the club like last year even. But rhandler33 is right. It is no longer even listed on their list of active clubs. It looks like it just fell apart.

@rhandler33- Yea I read about Moorpark. Thats unfortunate, there were some good guys that came out of that squad. I even tried to look into that school and emailed the coach when I was still in high school, but he never replied to me until after I was already competing for Cuesta.

Aliso Niguel HS-4 years, 160 lbs (11,12) captain my senior year 2005-2006.
Cuesta College-1 year, 165/174 lbs
local spring folkstyle tournies-157/160 lb. weight/weight group.
assistant coach at St. Margaret’s Episcopal School

does anyone know how much money you need to donate to be a lifetime member of Cardinal and Gold?

Westmoore HS - 4 year letterman (103,103,112,112)
I’m on two record lists for reversals and nearfalls at my school
Captain senior year
2x conference finalist(1x champion)
selected onto national greco-roman team
despite all…never went to state. got screwed over both junior and senior year.

Ask Gordon Marshall, lol.

@fuji what state did you wrestle in?

i wrestled 6a in oklahoma

thats a fun state to wrestle in haha. what year were you selected to the greco-roman team? and i feel you on the getting screwed over. i didn’t make it to masters or state even though i was ranked high every year cause i had a funny little sickness that my coach called CIF-Flu…I would get incredibly sick(twice with mono, once with the stomach flu) a week before the tournament and not have enough energy to wrestle to my full ability.

First time wrestling Greco was at the national Duals. How i got picked? No idea.

@fujiwarae86- I know the feeling. My senior year I was on my way to place at CIF (I dont exactly know the equivalent to it in other states, maybe a conference or regionals or whatever,) but I got really sick halfway through the season and I lost 10 pounds of muscle and was never able to recover physically and mentally.

We need a Trojan D-1 NCAA team!!

Good luck with that…The pac-10 is down to 8 teams since oregon and portland st dropped their programs

shooooot. idk if i want to cut weight again! the weekend after regionals i went from 114-130. now i’m around 145-150. still looking good though ;)

Yea I know, dont remind me. CSUBakersfield has announced they are cutting their team too this year unless x amount of money is raised, and I know both Cal Poly SLO and CSUFullerton are dangerously close to the cutting block because of their financial situations. its sad.

well, USC happens to be PRIVATE, maybe funding could be found. Im sure the PAC-10 is scrambling hardcore to find teams ASAP.

lol, won’t happen for a very long time if ever were to at USC…but its nice to think about.

if i get accepted to USC, i’m customizing a USC singlet for my little brother(secretly for me)

@SouthOC I think the Pac 10 could be done with…they’ll probably mix in with other another conference…it’s sad to see whats going on with wrestling. I love how the idiot that cut the program at Oregon retired and got a basketball court named after him. The only reason he cut the team was so he could build that fricken stadium

@fujiware86- lol, already beat you to the punch. I have one designed already.

@rhandler33- If the pac-10 loses Fullerton and/or Cal Poly…Yes, you are correct it is then done for. Losing Oregon’s team was such a joke because they raised so much money and had so much support behind that team. The reasons they stated were also pathetic, they were all refuted. It was just like Fresno State, they just wanted to build a new scoreboard for their pathetic excuse for a football program. lol, yea I know all about that stuff, I wrote an indepth research paper on the subject.

Dang have any designs for one? I’d like to see haha

Anybody know how much a letter of rec from a donator/former professor of the university looks?
