USC 2010 Transfer Thread

^
i just got the status updated like SFwarriro25
and got rejected by ucla, im soooooo nervous now
since SFwarriro25 and another kid all get accept by ucla

well…4/22/09 was the day zamela (an applicant to CLAS for kinesiology last year) received the “committee has acted on” update last year. Let’s hope tommorow brings some good news lol.

having no idea why I didnt apply to UCLA…now my only hope that’s left is USC =( and the wait is killing me

I have the same question as slee0103. I applied for sppd but haven’t taken pre-calc. I thought it’d be ok since they don’t have required pre-reqs but “recommended courses.” So if I don’t get into sppd but strong enough for my 2nd choice major of poli-sci, they’ll place me there right?

Try doing a search through the forum. I remember reading how USC called and offered a spot for the second choice, but I imagine that this doesn’t occur too often as there is limited information available. I think the majority of “qualified” but just not as competitive applicants are thrown into the spring admit pool.

I got accepted to UCLA (woohoo), but for those who didn’t, don’t stress. UCLA and USC have totally different admissions requirements and methodologies.

Grats AMorrison!
But the question is, are you going to go to USC if accepted?

Hell Yeah the Canucks beat the Kings tonight! I’m headed down to LA for game 6 at Staples Center on Sunday and will be cruising through the campus to check it out in person :)

I wish I had the answer! I was also accepted to one of Columbia’s undergraduate schools so I’m weighing a lot of financial and personal options right now. I’m trying not to stress too much until USC makes their decision.

As for the second choice major thing - it definitely happened last year. I think (though could be wrong) it was someone that applied to Marshall and they were offered, instead, a place in the College of Letters, Arts and Sciences.

Apparently if you don’t get into your 1st choice major, your app will be forwarded to the 2nd choice major to be reviewed.

@Jocelyne626 I got into Miami too!

So I was just doing some searching of last years transfer thread, and it looked like people started to get status updates as early as 4/22/2009 and many started to get them by 4/24/2009 so we really are getting close now I guess.

Then what happens if you are requested a SPGR for your 1st major? Do they just ignore your 2nd major choice?

Does anyone know the earliest date that a CLAS applicant received an “acted upon” status change from the previous years?

Last year it was like the 24th or 26th?

Congrats AMorrison! Getting accepted into UCLA and Columbia as a transfer is no joke. You should be stoked!

Does anyone have a link to the 2009 USC decisions? When was the first Marshall acted upon?

@fujiwarae86

I applied to Viterbi and still haven’t gotten the final status change either. Ahhh the waiting is killing me!

@poiman12

You applied to Viterbi and didn’t get a status change? Havn’t people already been accepted from into that school?

Thanks Spin! :)
