USC 2010 Transfer Thread

I would think, considering the support you have received from others on this thread, that you* would *care…

so who’s going to the July 9th orientation? If any of you are, there’s going to be a “meet and greet” for us college confidential people at innout right after orientation (which is supposed to end around at 5 pm). Check out the facebook page for it and rsvp! :smiley: Redirecting...;

Probably a result of the wait process, it’s pretty stressful. Anyway, we’ll see. I would honestly still have hope if I was one of those who received a status change today.

foodmunkee, according to the sample schedule, there’s a reception after orientation. I’m not sure if that’s something worth taking into account or not but I figured that I’d go ahead and mention it.

Status changed to acted on today but got my acceptance package yesterday so for all who are waiting ACTED ON DOES NOT MEAN REJECTION, just means your letter is coming which can be fall or spring acceptance or rejection.

Also, got forwarded status on Thursday, package arrived Sat. with fall acceptance, and today got acted on so jcarroll6 your source is wrong

so dandie AND uscmom123 had “acted upon” today and got good news! :slight_smile: Hope to hear more good news from the rest of you Tuesday. Tuesday seems so far away right now! I am so sorry this is so stressful for all of you - do your best to enjoy your long weekend.

@uscmom123 you just made my day lol been here at work following this all day haha Right after i read Hippo50’s post i was like SHIIt hah well now its just a waiting game!

@jcarroll6 I’m not trying to start up any internet fights on CC, but your pessimism and misinformation is not needed on CC. There is no need to discourage others simply because of this so-called “source” you have. I’d like to know exactly who this person and quantifies him/or her to be the absolute final word in saying all acted on statuses are rejections. Don’t put your cynicism onto others, everyone should be given the very least an open mind until they actually see their acceptance/rejection and not have that be revoked by someone over the internet.

I hate to say this but dandie and uscmom123 were both acted on in 3 days or less, not more than 3. Both examples prove his original blanket statement incorrect but neither prove his expanded information post incorrect. With that said, I still would take it with a grain of salt. I only pointed this stuff out in the interest of accuracy.

Also, went to check out Gateway today, spoke to Lacey who works the front desk, she was a junior transfer and didnt get her acceptance till July. Maybe she had a sgr? So for all those waiting, Tuesday may not be the end of the road so hold on and try to be patient.

does anyone know if transfers can appeal?

I believe the appeal process is only available to freshman applicants. I’ve never read any mention on their website that transfers can appeal.

hey arcade, first of all, congrats on your scholarship!!! that’s way~ cool! did you recieve the scholarship notification through mail? if yes when? if no, then how were you notified? also, would you be able to post your academic performance? I just wanted to get an idea as to who qualifies for transfer merit scholarship… thanks!!!

@Serapher

cjones17 just got accepted and he said he had his status as “forwarded to committee…” for almost two weeks. Check on page 638.

I find it amazing that Jcarroll posts that anyone who has had that status for more than 3 days is rejected when only 3 page ago an applicant got in and he waited way longer than the 3 day limit.

I didn’t notice cjones17. To be fair, he didn’t have “acted on” at all which makes him a different case. What we can definitely take from cjones17, though, is that a long waiting period shouldn’t make you doubt yourself.

Pure speculation. Nothing is certain until you see the physical letter or package.

this forum is good info ha but it messed with your head too much lol nothing on here is even certain its all just guesses haha

I’ve had my status left on “forwarded to committee” for several weeks…it just changed to acted upon today. Good luck to me Tuesday :</p>

In being through the process before, I would be inclined to agree with what jcarroll said.

I hate to admit it as well but I don’t see why I would have been left at forwarded for so long…when I actually do get rejected, will I able to get any info as to why? :(
