@ Kiarash212 eh same bout as you homie! Eff it. Next year lol

hey @figggggggy sorry for the delayed response, to be honest i never tried the backdoor method before getting my packet because i never knew the website to go to, so yeah sorry, i guess thats no help…

hey guys…so i got my acted on status AFTER i got my package(it was changed to acted on sometime after 9 pm–the time i went out). Soo if the backdoor method WORKS, expect a package!

Transfers can appeal. It really only works though if something substantial was misplaced and you were rejected on a technicality of that sort. Appeal success rate is <6%.

@everyone
Just got my package! Technically I received it on Saturday but I wasn’t home. Just got home today and saw the package! My status changed to “forwarded to” on Friday, which was the day the backdoor method worked for me…and later changed to “acted on” today. I’m glad I saw the package because it just made everything that much more real. I’ll post up my stats to the other thread. I got into International Relations, which is my first choice major. Anyways, congrats to everyone who got in already and to others, DON’T GIVE UP!
Don’t lose hope, you never know.

@Any Admitted Transfers who have received their “Transfer Credit Report.”

If it’s not too much to ask, could someone e-mail me what there’s looks like? I’m just really curious! Will it help me, probably not. But I’d still like to see.

My e-mail is my username on here, but remove the G. It’s @Usc.edu.

what is the backdoor method? can someone help me?

What is the “back door method” of checking your acceptance?
Simple method:
Check https://camel2.usc.edu/AdmCertification/Commit.aspx

Or try the following:
- Open USConnect in Internet Explorer. Not Firefox, Internet Explorer. Or whatever you use normally to view USConnect. I find that IE is the most reliable for this job. If you use Firefox you can go to the “admitted applicants” page from the dropdown menu and log in manually by clicking the “enrollment deposit” box. But that’s the long way. If you try copy and pasting the URL into Firefox, you’ll just get a blank page.
- Log in to USConnect. You may want to check the Admission tab first to see if you’ve gotten the boxes on your portal yet. If not, then move onto step 3.
- Without closing the page where you just logged in, copy and paste the link https://usconnect.usc.edu:447/Render/ServiceRender/AdmUGCertification.aspx into the same page’s URL box. Go to this new URL. It’s important that you don’t close the page where you initially logged in, otherwise it will log you out and you’ll get a blank page.
- A white page will come up with the “enrollment deposit” box in the top left corner. Click the box.
- It will either say “user is unauthorized” or it will have a form pre-filled with your name, address, etc. You want the latter.
- Sometimes this method doesn’t work even if you have been accepted. It takes up to 7 days for the link to work so even if it doesn’t let you access it, you still may have been accepted.

Slightly edited from page 546

Any Marshall admits get accepted with a B in calculus? I ask this because I received my first B, which put a blemish on my 4.0; I now stand with a 3.94 (77 units/63 transferrable). Kind of worries me since I received an SGR one week prior to my calc final. :(

@Budlightyear I see no valid reason why they would reject you over any other Marshall applicant who also received an SGR. My prerequisite grades were not perfect either, I received an A in Macroecon, A- in Microecon, B+ in Business Calc, As in all 3 of my English classes (3 Quarters) with an overall GPA of 3.9, and was still accepted. Your stats are obviously better than mine, however, they will review your app as a whole including your essays, short answers, etc, but I really wouldn’t worry about it. If there really is no strong burning reason why they would reject you then there isn’t. Just relax, the acceptance will come soon, as they are beginning to review SGRs after the June 1st deadline.

just came home and go over last few pages on this thread…
I am one of those who got forwarded for 3 weeks and got acted upon today

hate to be so upset because of some blank speculation but as someone said before I see no reason why they would keep the review process so long and all the sudden they mail out the decision on this very last few days :(

from today morning excitement to now almost hopeless…

BUT REALLY, I do hate some blank assumption or statement that came with unknown source, there are only 2 days left and for people like me who anxiously waiting for the mail may want to know the result by the actual mail then some so called solid conclusion on internet which increase our anxiety before the mail is even arrive yet

@Kielyy

I’m going to vent out my emoness to you here…

I told myself to be confident about this and focus on the finals I have this week. I’ve had the forwarded status for a good three weeks as well and it wasn’t until today that it was acted upon. I do hate to agree with the blank speculation but it just seems very likely to be the case. This week has easily been one of the worst experiences I’ve gone through. Dumped, most likely rejected, and all during my finals. I’m still going to wish you good luck as I am for myself and everyone else who’s in our situation. I’m just going to start avoiding refreshing this forum, focus on my studies, and wait for the mail man this tuesday.

I was just forwarded to the decision in mail update.

But the backdoor method doesn’t work - I only get a blank screen when I copy and paste the link and I’m doing everything right.

Thornton, pop music. Still on we are reviewing your application. Any suggestions? Hoping for the best expecting the worst

xdzzzrawr - Thanks man. I guess I’m just freaking out. I hope to meet you, along with everyone else here, soon!

I don’t think I will know about my decision till after June 1st. So my question is for UC’s the deadline is June 1 to SLR, so does that mean I must SLR on May 31st or can I SLR on June 1?

@kielyy and Kiarash212

Hang in there. I’m almost 100% certain I got rejected. All signs point to it. But I kind of realized that sometimes things that you don’t want to happen may turn out to be blessings in disguise.

Maybe, no matter how much I want USC, it’s just not meant for me. Maybe I’m meant to do something else, and I believe that something else will lead me to what makes me really happy.

I don’t know if I’m helping or even making sense at all. Just remember that everything happens for a reason and have faith that in the future, when you look back, you’ll be glad things turned out the way they did.

Of course, I’m only feeling this way since I know I got rejected. But if you still believe there’s a chance you might have gotten in, hang on to that hope. You never know. Life may surprise you sometimes! Good luck!

I’m giving up hope. I still can’t log into USConnect, even though the supposedly maintenance is obviously over, as people have been able to check their statuses and I can’t. I guess this means waiting it out. I work on Tuesday so it’ll be a nice distraction to keep me from watching out my front window for the mailman :(

Wanted to clarify…

the only pre-reqs for Marshall are English2 and Calc1 (or Business Calc) with Financial and Managerial Acctg as recommended.
They removed micro/macro cause you have to take the specific Business Micro/Macro at USC.

Please don’t forget the change in the curriculum for 2010.
