USC 2010 Transfer Thread

I Just tried madeforusc’s suggestion by logging in with my USCID as my username and DOB both mm/dd/yyyy and mm/dd/yy as my passwords and both did not work, you should try it, but I guess you really have to wait until USConnect is back up. I had thought that most people I know used this website in order to check on the status of their application and that USConnect was directly linked to this website, but I guess I was wrong.

EDIT: when you made your new account did it have your information prefilled out such as your name, USC ID? If so, you should be okay then, if it’s a blank slate and has no information about you as an applicant, it may not have your appropriate status displayed as it’ll read you as someone who has not yet applied.

@madeforusc- that was a impressive stat and you will definitely be success in any college you eventually go to :D

@xdzzzrawr I can access usconnect but I just wanted to see if the other site might have been different.

@mrxl33 oh haha, you had me freaked out, I was trying to figure out your situation so you could view your status, but yea it shouldn’t be different because the systems are linked.

@xdzzrawr oh no lol I can see my status on usconnect but just wanted to see if your link might show something more or different…and I tried first time visitor thing and used my email I use with usconnect but it says the login name/email is not available, because I am using it! lol why can’t I log in then?

@xdzzzrawr & mrxl33

They might have disabled the backdoor method. When the freshmen were waiting for their decisions, there was a point when the backdoor method no longer worked. It could by why it says the system is logged on my mac.

I think USC sent spies to CC to find out all the terrible things we’ve been doing to find out if we’ve been accepted and put a stop to it. :|

@kielyy

Thanks, but that’s if I get into any college! I got waitlisted by NYU and Chapman’s still pending. I’ve already graduated with a diploma from my polytechnic and I recently had to quit my assistant producer job because I got injured during production and could no longer run around. If I get rejected by all three schools, I’m stuck here for another year.

ONE MORE YEAR OF BUMMING AROUND. WOO FOR ME!!! (Not woo for my parents)

@madeforusc
I am not trying backdoor method I am trying to see my status by using something else besides usconnect, which btw I have no trouble logging into, using xdzzzrawr’s link

Oops! Sorry!

Well I know I’ve said this like 10,000 times, but the backdoor method works as a systematic automated system by USC and only works on it’s scheduled date/time of release for all recently acted upon and accepted applicants to access it once it is released. They release it as a wave in order to keep track of the following processes after submitting the enrollment such as receiving a student’s USC e-mail and Orientation procedures in the USC e-mail around 48-72 total hours after submitting the enrollment. It’s much less of a hassle for them to do this as opposed to activating each student’s enrollment box one at a time without taking the precautionary procedures to see that the student is on the right schedule. I’ve proven this true during last Saturday/Sunday using the backdoor method having been acted on Saturday and it didn’t work on both days, but on Monday 12:03 AM my enrollment box opened up.

Also it is important to note that acted on doesn’t mean that’s the date your package was mailed, I was acted on Saturday May 22 but my package was post-marked Friday June 21st. I assume they do this as I have mentioned before, in order to input the data of all accepted much faster and more efficiently and to ensure that the packages have indeed been mailed out and then commencing the enrollment deposit box input into the system.

Hi guys,

So I got an SGR a couple weeks ago and am really nervous about what to expect. I had a 3.44 transfer GPA before spring grades and during the spring semester (which I took 19 units in), my GPA got bumped to ~3.52 (I got a 3.68 for my spring semester, 4 A’s and 2 B’s). I have a total of 72 units complete and I am transferring from a california community college. So do you guys know what my chances are?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

In a simple word, if you cant log in to backdoor method DOESNT MEAN you are reject :smiley: I am anxious I am going mad but I still knows this, so be calm :P

status finally changed to acted on. i’m probably rejected, but i’m still hoping for the best. good luck to everyone. i’m ready for this to be over.

First time posting. My grand daughter is waiting. What is the back door method?

Thank You

P.S. Says committee has acted on your application and have mailed notice of decision.

@pgawest - Quoted from Serapher(#9635)
What is the “back door method” of checking your acceptance?
Simple method:
Check https://camel2.usc.edu/AdmCertification/Commit.aspx</a></p>

Or try the following:

 1. Open USConnect in Internet Explorer. Not Firefox, Internet Explorer. Or whatever you use normally to view USConnect. I find that IE is the most reliable for this job. If you use Firefox you can go to the “admitted applicants” page from the dropdown menu and log in manually by clicking the “enrollment deposit” box. But that’s the long way. If you try copy and pasting the URL into Firefox, you’ll just get a blank page.
 2. Log in to USConnect. You may want to check the Admission tab first to see if you’ve gotten the boxes on your portal yet. If not, then move onto step 3.
 3. Without closing the page where you just logged in, copy and paste the link https://usconnect.usc.edu:447/Render...ification.aspx</a> into the same page’s URL box. Go to this new URL. It’s important that you don’t close the page where you initially logged in, otherwise it will log you out and you’ll get a blank page.
 4. A white page will come up with the “enrollment deposit” box in the top left corner. Click the box.
 5. It will either say “user is unauthorized” or it will have a form pre-filled with your name, address, etc. You want the latter.
 6. Sometimes this method doesn’t work even if you have been accepted. It takes up to 7 days for the link to work so even if it doesn’t let you access it, you still may have been accepted.

Slightly edited from page 546

Thanks for info. She applied as a Art History Major and had a 3.4 gpa. Any thoughts on her chance of acceptance?

@ SCA Rejects:

“After moving to California, Steven Spielberg applied to attend the film school at University of Southern California School of Theater, Film and Television three separate times, but was unsuccessful.”

This made me smile. :D

Ok, so I’ll post this for a third time, since no one has even attempted to give me any feedback. @ anyone - does anyone know why as a transfer with 100 cc semester units USC would put sophomore transfer on my acceptance? I recounted my credits and I have 88 transferable to USC so I’m just a little confused.

please any feedback is good

lafazman, I answer your question right afterward. It’s not a big deal that you missed it, I just don’t want you to think that everyone was ignoring you.

“64 is the max number of transferable credits to USC. Most schools have a cap like this.”

Quick update: Actually, if you have 64 units, you would be a junior. Maybe USC isn’t done with your transfer credit evaluation yet. Check your report on OASIS and see whether it’s complete or not.

I’m a Trojan.

that is all.

This is the way I see it for all you SCA productions still waiting. We had to read while all the Marshalls waited around for months and still got accepted. Our first person (that we know of) got accepted like 3 weeks ago at the most? Not everyone who applied is on CC but we’re the motivated ones.

Don’t quote me on this but I feel like ours has more supplemental material that they have to thoroughly examine. We were the last from SCA to be “forwarded” and that awkward move they had to the new building set them back.

They have to send out letters by June 1st but don’t forget I haven’t seen any SCA Productions get a SGR or a Spring admit YET.

Fight on
