USC 2010 Transfer Thread

kielyy, that means that you need to take at least 64 units at USC to get a USC bachelor’s degree. mrxl33, 64 units is the max transferable to USC. If you apply with more it’s fine but not all of it will transfer.

@kielyy and @serapher if they say don’t have more then 64 units before applying again can you just take more classes and choose what you want to transfer or not? Is it even a good idea to go to a UC for 1 year? I am confused, I already sir to uci as well…also you weren’t planning appling for FA?! That means 2 years at usc and you owe them over 100k LOL

@KHPAtel

Yeah, I do understand where you’re coming from. I personally believe an online decision would be efficient. Numerous schools have moved away from the whole paper process and it seems to be working out perfectly.

@kiley

if you still wanted to transfer you can still do it. As @Serapher said though only 64 credits would transfer though…

@Kiarash212

keep your head up man. I saw that music vid and it was pretty sick. Well done.

Thanks Serapher and abroncos23 :)

@mrxl33- I am really confused on that idea of go to UC 1 year and transfer again, but that won’t be a full year right? With fall and winter, possibly spring but probably no summer? I just emailed a counselor to ask him more about it. Hopefully it works out because USC will always be my dream school. Also, a side note comment from the admission when I called he said maybe I should consider graduate school for USC. Well I don’t know I just want to get my bachelor degree there and continue my study there…

For the FA thing it’s because my parents are oversea and they don’t really have idea about all the FA stuffs so werent planning to apply

@Kiarash212- I understand how you feel…but keep you head up and consider the option of your back up now, nothing helps but move on :)

Used the backdoor method and found out that I’m accepted. But for the Spring semester:/

@kielyy
If you go to UCI you will not be able to go to usc until next year September…That means upcoming fall quarter, winter quarter, AND spring quarter, you can tell them you are taking a quarter off but I heard that is not a good idea, especially at UC…now I have think lol its either UCI then try again or CSU then try again…

@drums
I’m in the same situation. I called today and admissions councilor told me that she would tell my councilor the that my application wasn’t decided on.

An hour later, I checked USConnect and it changed to “committee review”.

I’m still optimistic. I have a 4.0 and loads of extra-curricular.

@Kielyy

I just gave my SIR to Irvine, don’t know 100% if I’m going there…What’s your major going to be?

denied :[, 3.0 gpa found out today in the mail…so sadd

@kiarash did you have to pay 100 dollar for sir? I heard some people got a fee waivers some how

@mrxl33- yea but the question is if we shouldnt have too many units before transfer, how do we actually go for 3 quarters and not exceed that unit number? so I am not sure…but I will probably do some extra curricular that are beneficial to my next year application meanwhile…

@Kiarash212- My major is sociology but I want to change it to public relation. So I am not quite sure how am I going to do that, should I change major first and apply again or apply again with the same major… Lots of confusion :p

OMG!!! The backdoor method works!

I have been on the “forward” status since Friday, which is currently the same as of today, but just check the backdoor right now and I can log in!!!

@ everyone - There is hope guys! Honestly, I was very upset that I didn’t get anything or hear anything this weekend, but I still believed that there was hope. Keep believing guys!

@kielyy
I am not sure loll because at UC you must tell them why you are taking a quarter off I think and I do not think they will like “I want to go to USC so I don’t need to take that many units” loll…I am sociology too but I want to change it to public health science if I go to UCI because most schools have public health science as masters only but uci has that for bs degree. So if I get rejected I am planning on taking classes at uci that are required to change to public health which 3 quarters should be enough for then transfer to usc as health promotion disease prevention major(which is the same as public health science) do you already have all the classes needed to change majors?

@Dbroncos
Thanks a lot man, much appreciated

@Kielyy

yeah the problem with Irvine is I want to change my major as well…We should figure out this mess together!

rejected. NEXT YEAR! lol

Status still on “forwarded,” been trying the backdoor method all day today with no luck, just tried it again 10mins ago and I was able to get in! How do I find out which semester I was accepted for?

@mrxl33- No I was going to transfer to USC first and then change major… haha we have to first figure out how many units we can get before we transfer again then plan everything out lol Another thing is I feel in USC sociology is a less competitive major then public relation, so I am not sure what am I going to do.

@kiarash212- yea we should clarify this together and give hopes into the goal of being a trojan :smiley: I emailed the counselor and hopefully have reply soon

So my enrollment deposit form says:

“Spring Enrollment
Commitment Deadline:
9/1/2010.”

This means I got in for the spring right?

for those accepted, anyone received transfer merit scholarship???
or anyone know if anyone received any???

I was so0o0 excited to find out I got into USC last week but than I realized that this semester I contracted a really bad case of senioritous and Im now afraid that they will retract my acceptance it was good to be a Trojan for a week though…
